Ford's new GT3-spec Mustang is nearing its debut. While aerodynamics and braking are fairly self-explanatory, even for casual racing or high-performance car enthusiasts, what exactly does Ford mean when they mention improvements in the Mustang GT3’s kinematics? “The Mustang GT3 has been raced on various circuits worldwide using different tire compounds, enhancing our understanding of its operational range and what is necessary to maximize performance with these tire types,” the announcement explained.
“To achieve this, we’ve established a more stable platform and fine-tuned features like anti-dive and camber gain,” it continued. “This not only enhances tire performance but also optimizes the new aerodynamic package.”
Ford did not specify the exact performance improvements of the GT3, but this is typical for a company striving for any possible competitive edge. Over the past few years, Ford has highlighted the “Race to Road Development” approach. The most notable outcome of this strategy is the Mustang GTD, which is currently engaged in a competition for 'ring time supremacy with the also formidable Chevy Corvette ZR1.
