A pristine 2026 C8 ZR1 is attracting significant bids on Bring a Trailer.

      The white-over-red Corvette features a 5.5-liter LT7 V8 engine that delivers 828 lb-ft of torque.

Chevy's policy to void warranties on resold vehicles presents a challenge for prospective buyers.

Imagine the scene: after a lengthy wait, you finally receive your dream Corvette, a brand-new ZR1, among the fastest and most powerful production cars on the market.

You feel like the luckiest person in America, but after just an hour of driving, you realize you're also quite fearful. This seems to be the case for one 2026 C8 owner who is now putting his scarcely used supercar up for sale on Bring a Trailer.

This stunning Arctic White beast shows only 40 miles (64 km) on the odometer, and the dealer overseeing the sale claims the owner isn't flipping it for profit; rather, he simply found the car overly powerful.

Too Much Of A Good Thing?

“Our client didn’t buy this to flip…he genuinely wanted it,” the dealer stated in the comments section of the listing.

“To acquire this car, the dealer required him to buy a Z06, which he overpaid for (only to trade it in) and then had to pay significantly over MSRP for this one. He loves the car, but 1,064 hp is just more than he needs.”

Over a thousand horsepower is considered too much for him? Who would have thought? With its twin-turbo 5.5-liter LT7 V8 delivering 1,064 hp (1,079 PS) and 828 lb-ft (1,123 Nm), the 2026 ZR1 is certainly more than anyone might require. That amount of power can transform even the most confident drivers into anxious passengers in their own vehicles.

The listing highlights the ZR1 in like-new condition, featuring the 3LZ equipment package (GT2 bucket seats, Bose audio) and the $4,395 ZTK chassis package (advanced dampers, carbon brakes, and Michelin Cup 2R tires).

      Carbon Everywhere

Additionally, it comes with the $10,495 Carbon Fiber Aero Package, which includes a carbon-fiber hood-mounted Gurney flap, carbon-fiber front dive planes, and underbody strakes.

Naturally, since this is the ZR1, the initial price is already quite high. With all his options, the seller paid $214,800 for the car, compared to a base MSRP of $182,395 (the convertible version is $10,000 more).

However, the demand for the ZR1 has driven the prices of the few available vehicles to astronomical levels, and at the time of writing, bidding on this one had reached $296,000 with a day left in the auction.

We are not sure that such a price is justified, even though the ZR1 offers better value at $300,000 than other supercars (and would be an incredible deal if you somehow manage to purchase one at MSRP).

Our main concern is that the emergence of the new ZR1X could significantly decrease ZR1 prices. Just look at the decline in Z06 values.

Another significant concern for potential bidders is the warranty. GM has stated it will void the warranty on resold vehicles to deter ZR1s from being sold to opportunistic buyers. If this is indeed the case, the new owner of this car will undoubtedly need to look for third-party coverage.

If that hasn’t dissuaded you, you can place your bids here.
