The brand-new electric Cayenne will feature design aspects similar to the Macan Electric.

Porsche's electric Cayenne is set to deliver more power than the Turbo E-Hybrid variant, with a design that visually differentiates it from its traditional combustion-engine counterpart. The cabin will showcase a four-screen layout, representing a departure from Porsche's typically minimalist interiors.

In the upcoming year, prospective buyers of luxury SUVs looking for advanced technology will have a fresh option: an all-electric Porsche Cayenne.

This electric vehicle (EV) is inspired by the Macan Electric, boasting a unique design, a fully battery-operated powertrain, and enhanced performance, all while being sold alongside the combustion-engine version. For now, this prototype offers the clearest preview of what to expect.

      Electric Design Aesthetics

Similar to the Macan Electric, the electric Cayenne will move away from the smooth contours of the gasoline-powered model. The design is more upright and muscular, starting at the front with headlights that resemble those of the Macan, featuring four slender horizontal daytime running lights that double as turn signals.

Although much of the front end of this prototype is concealed with non-production parts, we can discern the outline of the lower grilles and the central placement of the main radar unit, along with the general shape of the bumper. The lower grilles are designed similarly to those on the 992.2-generation 911, allowing them to open and close as needed.

The rear design of the electric Cayenne will likely appear familiar as well. Like its smaller electric counterpart, it will feature slender LED taillights, possibly connected by a light bar. Some of the plastic elements on the bumper and diffuser seem somewhat low-quality, but these should be improved before the production model is launched.

      Interior Features: Screens Galore

Previous spy images give us a clear understanding of the expected interior. The cabin will include a fully digital curved instrument cluster, an expansive central infotainment screen, a dedicated display for passengers, and a separate touchscreen for climate controls. While this modern, screen-dominated design may not appeal to all long-time Porsche enthusiasts, it aligns with the brand's transition toward a more tech-oriented driving experience.

      Impressive Electric Performance

While opinions may vary regarding the SUV's design, performance-focused buyers are likely to be pleased with what it offers. Although official specifications haven’t yet been announced, initial estimates indicate that the base model could deliver around 400 horsepower, with the S variant reaching nearly 600.

At the top of the line, Turbo models may exceed 1,000 horsepower, easily surpassing the current Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid's robust 730 horsepower. The fastest model is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just over two seconds, though Porsche will likely limit the top speed to 155 mph (250 km/h), consistent with its other EVs.

Regarding driving range, Porsche aims for an estimated range of 350 to 400 miles on a single charge, depending on the variant. This figure would keep the Cayenne EV competitive with other high-performance electric SUVs while providing the long-range capability that buyers at this level expect.
