The completely new Temerario GT3 has been revealed, moving away from the plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Lamborghini has launched the Temerario GT3 as the successor to the Huracán GT3, following the road-going model but without the plug-in hybrid components. This model features a detuned twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that generates 542 hp.

During the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Lamborghini took the opportunity to present the new Temerario GT3, which is the first race car based on the successor to the Huracán. It is expected to make its competitive debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March 2026.

Exuding Italian pride, this race car was fully designed, developed, and constructed at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. This focus on motorsport began at the onset of the Temerario project, facilitating “strategic integration of race-oriented engineering from the design stage.”

On the exterior, the Temerario GT3 features carbon composite bodywork co-developed by Squadra Corse and Lamborghini Centro Stile. While it closely resembles the production model, it includes various enhancements to improve aerodynamics, stability, and cooling.

While Lamborghini did not provide extensive details, the car includes a prominent front splitter, distinct flics, redesigned air intakes, a ventilated hood, and a central light bar.

The styling modifications continue towards the rear, with lightweight windows and ventilated front fenders. The car is also equipped with aggressive side skirts and 18-inch wheels from Ronal AG.

The GT3's rear design is notably striking, featuring a large diffuser, an enlarged spoiler, and a significant rear wing.

Although Lamborghini has not shared interior images, they confirmed that the model includes a roll cage and a new steering wheel developed with input from drivers. Additionally, it features new switchgear and graphics, along with a more comprehensive data logger. The company noted that drivers can expect updated electronics and specialized software.

Built on a modified aluminum spaceframe chassis, the design meets the structural and serviceability demands of racing. The chassis has been extensively lightened and simplified, including the elimination of unnecessary hybrid components and adjustments for faster part replacements at the track.

The Temerario GT3 boasts a racing suspension featuring new six-way dampers from KW, and it has a wider track and longer wheelbase compared to the Huracán GT3 Evo2.

Powering the car is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, similar to the road version. However, the race variant eliminates the plug-in hybrid elements and the front-mounted electric motor. It also has smaller turbochargers and a redesigned airbox, complemented by a new Capristo exhaust and a remapped engine control unit that enhances performance across a broader rev range.

Due to these modifications and racing regulations, the twin-turbo V8's output decreases from 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS) to 542 hp (405 kW / 550 PS). The reduction is more significant when compared to the road-going model's combined output of 907 hp (677 kW / 920 PS).

The refueling system has been enhanced to improve flow rate and expedite pit stops, with the upgraded tank featuring a new fuel sensor for more accurate readings.

Lamborghini is still refining the car, which has a formidable legacy to uphold, as CEO Stephan Winkelmann highlighted that its predecessor secured 96 championships and achieved over 200 sales.
