The Sadair's Spear is a limited-run special edition based on the Jesko, designed to deliver exceptional performance on the track.
Koenigsegg has introduced the Sadair’s Spear, an enhanced track-oriented variant of the Jesko.
While it is road-legal, this model boasts increased power, reduced weight, and more aggressive aerodynamics.
The hypercar is already sold out, with Christian von Koenigsegg stating it is “destined to set records.”
The Koenigsegg Jesko Attack ranks among the fastest hypercars globally, and the Swedish manufacturer has upgraded every facet of it with the Sadair’s Spear, providing additional power, a lighter frame, redesigned aerodynamic features, and an improved chassis configuration.
In contrast to some competitors that are track-only, the new Koenigsegg is entirely road legal in all international markets. Production is capped at 30 units, all of which have already been reserved at an undisclosed price. Christian von Koenigsegg noted that this hypercar is “destined to set records” and has already shown to be 1.1 seconds quicker than the Jesko Attack at Sweden’s Gotland Ring track.
So, how did Koenigsegg enhance the Jesko? First, they increased the power. The twin-turbo V8 engine has been recalibrated and receives improved cooling. Consequently, the output reaches 1,300 hp (969 kW / 1,318 PS) on regular unleaded fuel and up to 1,625 hp (1,212 kW / 1,648 PS) on E85, marking an increase of 20 hp and 25 hp, respectively, over the Jesko Attack. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels through Koenigsegg’s flywheel-free Light Speed Transmission (LST), which is exclusively operated via paddles behind the steering wheel.
Next is the weight; the Sadair’s Spear is 35 kg (77 pounds) lighter than the Jesko, allowing it to exceed the 1:1 power-to-weight ratio of its predecessor, the Koenigsegg One:1. Naturally, there is a track-oriented chassis setup, incorporating lighter springs and newly developed front Triplex dampers, along with improved multi-layer carbon-ceramic brakes featuring stronger materials for the pads.
Koenigsegg also enhanced the aerodynamic efficiency of the Jesko, primarily through a new double-blade active rear wing, which generates increased downforce in conjunction with refined underfloor strakes and wheel arch louvres.
The rear has been slightly elongated, and the front canards, louvres, hood vents, and side intakes have been revised to enhance cooling. Additionally, there is a new set of Aircore carbon fiber wheels featuring a turbine-blade directional design, unique to each corner, fitted with wider track-focused tires.
The interior has been redesigned for weight reduction, showcasing a revamped center console and carbon fiber seats, along with diminished insulation and lighter components. The hypercar comes equipped with three-point seatbelts as standard, although a six-point racing harness is available as an option. Despite being track-focused, it retains features like the SmartCluster display, wireless charging, and birds-eye parking assistance.
Regarding the name choice, Sadair’s Spear was the favored racehorse of Jesko von Koenigsegg, the father of the company's founder and CEO, who gave his name to the "base" Jesko model.
Christian von Koenigsegg remarked: “Sadair’s Spear signifies a natural evolution for Koenigsegg – a perfect blend of raw power, refined aerodynamics, and extraordinary road presence. This vehicle is set to establish records. Achieving such track supremacy in a fully road-legal car is nothing short of extraordinary.”
