Dealer leak suggests that a Hemi V8 Ram 1500 and a more powerful TRX will be released next year.

A recently leaked email, which allegedly summarizes a recent dealer meeting for Stellantis in the US, hints that fans of Hemi engines may have another opportunity to purchase V8-powered Ram 1500s. If this information turns out to be accurate, we can expect not only the return of the standard 5.7-liter engine but also the addition of a 6.4-liter V8 for the half-ton truck, along with the revival of the TRX featuring enhanced power. It seems almost too good to believe, doesn’t it?

Below are the key points extracted from the purported dealer email, presented as a screenshot.

      RAM

      - The 5.7L HEMI will return in the 1500s

      - Express and Warlock packages will be available in DT Body Style

      - The TRX will be back with increased power

      - The RAM REV is delayed, while the Ramcharger 1500 is moving up

      - The 6.4L will be offered in 1500 trim levels

      - Night Edition and Warlock HDs will be available

      - Power Wagon Diesel will be offered

The email also provides product details regarding Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler, but some sections are cut off and incomplete. Notably, it suggests there will be an additional run of Wrangler 392s and indicates that the end of the Durango may finally be near—perhaps for real this time? Although there's no timeline specified in the email, the mention of the Jeep Recon launch in Q4 implies this could relate to 2025. However, due to delays in the Ram 1500's new lineup, it’s unlikely we’ll see anything materialize before the 2026 model year. This could range from just a few months away to as far off as next year.

This would not only signify the return of a 5.7-liter Hemi to the Ram 1500 range, but also represents the first indication that a 6.4-liter engine might be available beyond the Ram HD models where it’s currently found. The prospect of an updated TRX is intriguing, but even with potentially greater power than the previous 707-horsepower model, it may face tough competition from electric vehicles. Speaking of which, we were already aware of the Ram REV and Ramcharger developments, which adds some credibility to this report.

Admittedly, the source of this information is somewhat tenuous. While the contents of the screenshot appear valid at first glance, we cannot authenticate it, particularly with Stellantis, whose representatives have been noncommittal about any return of V8-powered vehicles. However, as we analyze the hints dropped by Stellantis executives, it becomes clearer how a V8 could find its way back into showrooms after being abruptly discontinued by former Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.

Although details are limited, they align well with what we have been hearing from Stellantis leaders this year. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear has suggested that making a business case for a V8 in today’s market is quite challenging. As trucks continue to demand increasingly larger investments in manufacturing, the likelihood of new eight-cylinder options arising is greater if they can be justified by Ram. With trucks paving the way for V8s, the probability increases that they will also be seen across the Stellantis lineup. Additionally, we should remember that Ram always has the “Classic” option available. In other words, Ram’s plans for V8 trucks do not necessarily guarantee a new model. Just something to consider.
