If you spot an older GM pickup and automatically think it has a 350 small-block, you might need to rethink that assumption. This is a 1971 Chevrolet K10, which, surprisingly, does not feature an LS or even a 454 big-block. Instead, it boasts a massive 632-cubic-inch V8 crate engine installed by the JPS Customs team, transforming this Cheyenne Super Custom into an incredible build.

You can be sure it will turn heads as it rumbles across the auction block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale event in January. The 10.4-liter GM Performance engine is impressively rated at 1,004 horsepower and 876 lb-ft of torque, all achieved without any power enhancers. I often disagree with the saying, but in this situation, there truly is no substitute for displacement.

The V8 engine sits in the polished engine bay like a prized jewel, showcasing its orange valve covers and high-rise intake. There’s a significant amount of artistic talent here—or perhaps the word “craftsmanship” is more fitting. Regardless, JPS was deliberate with every detail, from the Stainless Works headers to the mandrel-bent 3-inch Borla exhaust and everything surrounding it.

With an engine this powerful, the rest of the truck needs to meet the standard as well. JPS selected a 4L80E transmission from Hughes Performance, which channels all that power through a billet two-speed Atlas transfer case, Tom Wood’s driveshafts, and Currie axles equipped with the Roadster Shop RS4 chassis. This chassis alone has a starting price of $43,995, which gives you an idea of the extensive detail involved in the undercarriage: Fox 2.5 Factory Series shocks featuring a 10-inch stroke, triangulated four-links for improved articulation and stability, and CAD-optimized steering geometry… this Bowtie has it all.

The K10's aesthetics are striking. It's only fitting that the truck showcases a polished two-tone, black-and-white paint job. Inside, the interior features a rich chocolate color complemented by a woodgrain dash with a charming patina, alongside a new Gen V HVAC system from Vintage Air. Every surface you touch exudes high quality, including the twin shifters on the floor.

I can’t even begin to predict how much this Chevy will fetch, but it’s worth mentioning that it currently has no reserve. I anticipate it going for over $200,000 simply due to its quality and the fact that it’s ready to go for anyone looking to have fun. It would take significant time and, obviously, a considerable amount of money to replicate this on your own. Alternatively, you could just bid on this one when it goes up for auction in the week of Jan. 17, 2026.
