Larte Declares Its Mercedes-AMG GLS Enhancement A Success, You Choose | Carscoops

      The new carbon fiber package gives the rugged SUV a more robust appearance, enhancing its character without descending into absurdity.

      Larte Design has developed a new carbon fiber kit specifically for the AMG GLS 63. The "Winner" package includes a vented hood, splitter, and diffuser. The carbon components can be removed, allowing the SUV to revert to its original look.

      The Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 already presents a formidable presence from the factory, but Larte Design felt it needed an extra edge. The German tuner introduced the "Winner" body kit, which refines the GLS’s appearance while steering clear of being overly extravagant.

      In comparison to Larte's other kits, this one is relatively subtle. The most significant alteration is the addition of a carbon fiber hood with vents to assist in cooling. A new splitter has been incorporated into the original front bumper, and carbon fiber accents now embellish the outer edges of the air intakes.

      The kit also features flared wheel arches at both the front and rear, accommodating optional aftermarket forged wheels. To our eyes, the spoke design of these wheels seems a bit too intricate for a vehicle like the GLS 63, but customers have the option to retain the original rims if desired.

      Finishing off the enhancements are modifications to the SUV's rear, which include a carbon fiber diffuser, a curved roof spoiler, carbon fiber bumper overlays, and new tailpipes.

      All body components offered by Larte for the AMG are constructed from lightweight pre-preg carbon fiber and have received TÜV certification. Notably, these parts utilize the original mounting points, meaning no cutting is necessary.

      This is particularly beneficial for those who may want to sell their GLS with Larte’s kit, as the parts can easily be removed and swapped back to the original components.

      However, Larte has also demonstrated a more bold approach in the past. Last October, they revealed a much more dramatic package for the Cadillac Escalade, featuring an exposed carbon hood, extended wheel arches, an eye-catching splitter, and a rear diffuser.

      While the "Winner" kit for the GLS 63 may not be as extravagant, that is precisely its charm, as it boosts the AMG's presence without altering its inherent character.
