The latest Juno trim of Toyota's compact minivan taps into Japan's camper trend with customizable furniture kits.

This new variant is based on the flagship Z Hybrid trim and has a starting price of ¥3,654,200 ($24,800).

In Japan, transforming a regular vehicle into a comfortable getaway has become a popular hobby. From kei cars to larger vans, automakers and aftermarket tuners continually offer camper-ready enhancements. The newest model embracing this trend is the Toyota Sienta, a compact minivan that has been updated with the help of Modellista.

Initially introduced in 2022 as a rival to the Honda Freed, the third-generation Sienta is constructed on a longer version of the TNGA-B platform, which it shares with the Yaris. It is 4,260 mm (167.7 inches) long and offers a choice between a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and a hybrid system, available in front-wheel or E-Four all-wheel drive.

Toyota's new Juno trim expands on this base, redesigning the rear cabin to enhance versatility. Instead of a third row of seating, this area is now equipped with a customizable compartment that can be adjusted for various uses using modular furniture pieces.

Choose Your Setup: Sofa or Workspace

Consumers can select from five individual modules or choose from one of four themed packages: Chill, Refresh, Focus, and Comfort. Depending on their choice, the Sienta can serve as a lounge, a sleeping area, or a compact mobile office.

The model also comes equipped with six ceiling-mounted LED lights, unique floor mats with black edging, and a Juno emblem on the tailgate. As with the regular Sienta, the interior features fabric upholstery that is deodorizing and resistant to water and oil, available in black, fromage, or khaki colors.

      Cost Information

The Toyota Sienta Juno is built on the Hybrid Z trim and is priced at ¥3,654,200 ($24,800) for the 2WD version and ¥3,852,200 ($26,100) for the E-Four model. This makes it ¥570,900 ($3,900) more expensive than the standard Sienta Hybrid Z with a five-seat configuration.

The pricing for individual furniture modules is as follows: the Bass Module is ¥69,300 ($470), the larger version is ¥72,600 ($490), the Cushion Module is ¥20,900 ($140), the Side Table is ¥31,900 ($220), and the Work Table is ¥44,000 ($300). An optional air mattress, costing ¥22,000 ($150), is available to complete the overnight setup.

For full configurations, the Chill package is ¥165,000 ($1,100), Refresh is ¥220,000 ($1,500), Focus is ¥231,000 ($1,600), and Comfort is the most expensive at ¥330,000 ($2,200).

      Enhanced Safety Features

In addition to the Juno trim, Toyota has introduced several model year updates for the Sienta, focusing on safety enhancements. All trims now include standard features such as an electric parking brake, brake hold function, automatic air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, driver emergency response system, and steering assist. Moreover, all trims except the base X now come with a drive recorder.

Exterior and interior styling changes are limited to Juno-specific features. The updated Sienta lineup is priced between ¥2,077,900 and ¥3,322,000 ($14,100 to $22,500) in Japan, depending on the selected trim and drivetrain.
