A street-legal motorcycle featuring a Ferrari V8 engine, constructed entirely by one individual, provides unparalleled sound, power, and presence.

Maxwell Hazan has fashioned a custom motorcycle utilizing the V8 engine from a Ferrari F355.

      This hand-crafted HF355 boasts approximately 400 hp and a 6-speed manual transmission.

Despite its substantial V8 engine, the superbike has a total weight of only 590 lbs when fully fueled.

Most sport bikes are engineered with high-revving motors that achieve a delicate equilibrium between brute power and streamlined performance. Typically, whether they feature a twin, triple, or inline-four engine, these machines generally top out around 210 horsepower unless they include forced induction, such as the famously extravagant Kawasaki H2—ridden by Tom Cruise in the 2022 film “Top Gun: Maverick.”

However, for one custom motorcycle creator in the U.S., this standard configuration wasn't sufficient. Maxwell Hazan envisioned something much more ambitious: a sport bike that runs on the engine of a Ferrari F355.

Based in Los Angeles, Hazan dedicated significant time to developing this unique model, dubbed the HF355. He has recently finalized the build and took it for a ride on public roads, where it instantly became one of the most remarkable motorcycles we have ever encountered.

      Crafted From the Engine Up

It’s obvious that one cannot simply take a pre-existing sport bike and fit a V8 into it. Therefore, Hazan had to construct it completely from the ground up, using Ferrari’s 3.5-liter engine as the foundation and assembling everything around it. The naturally aspirated Italian engine is paired with a six-speed transmission, as is standard for bikes in this category, and features a custom SC Project exhaust. With around 400 hp available, the HF355 is as extreme as a two-wheeled vehicle can be.

What stands out about this motorcycle is its weight of only about 590 lbs, or 267 kg, when fully fueled. This is just about 132 pounds more than a typical 1,000 cc sport bike, which is quite impressive given the size and complexity of the engine.

      Familiar Design, Extraordinary Function

The custom carbon fiber bodywork closely resembles a conventional bike, maintaining familiar shapes. The most noticeable difference is the presence of two large cylinder banks protruding from the sides instead of a sleek inline-four setup.

There are no details available about the bike’s acceleration capabilities, but it is expected to be swift. With a power-to-weight ratio of 1,498 hp per tonne—approximately 500 hp per tonne greater than a BMW S1000 RR—it’s safe to say the HF355 operates on an entirely different plane in terms of performance.
