The Enyaq marks Skoda's inaugural fully electric model adapted for light commercial vehicle use.
In the UK market, the electric SUV has been modified to feature a two-seat front cabin and a designated rear cargo section separated by a bulkhead.
This version is based on the Enyaq 85 or SportLine 85x trims, delivering up to 282 horsepower.
Skoda is enhancing its all-electric lineup by introducing a practical commercial variant of the Enyaq, named the Enyaq Cargo. This model reconfigures the familiar SUV into a light commercial vehicle (LCV), offering two front seats and a redesigned, versatile cargo space in the rear. Specifically created for the UK, this new variant is expected to be integrated into commercial fleets nationwide soon.
The transformation was achieved through a partnership with Strong Plastic Products Ltd, a UK-based firm. It meets all UK LCV standards and is based on the recently upgraded Enyaq SUV, rather than the Coupe version, which would restrict rear space.
Designed for Functionality
The main modifications include the removal of the rear bench seat and the creation of a cargo area constructed from durable, lightweight plastic materials. A bulkhead containing a small window separates the cabin from the flexible cargo space, ensuring secure transport of goods.
From the outside, it’s challenging to recognize that this Enyaq is not meant for family use. Unlike panel vans, the rear windows remain, albeit heavily tinted and with their electric functions disabled. Professionals can access the cargo area via the back doors and the tailgate.
Powertrain Choices and Range
The LCV conversion is available with either the single-motor Enyaq 85 or the dual-motor SportLine 85x variant, both producing 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS). Unfortunately, Skoda does not offer a similar model of the performance-oriented Enyaq vRS, which generates 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS).
Regardless of the powertrain, both versions are equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack, providing a WLTP-rated range of up to 359 miles (578 km) for the rear-wheel-drive model and 332 miles (534 km) for the all-wheel-drive version. This range is expected to adequately meet the needs of most LCV users, with the added convenience of DC fast-charging capabilities.
As per the automaker, this initiative was commissioned by National Grid Energy Distribution, a UK company that ordered 70 Enyaq Cargo models to help decarbonize its fleet.
Skoda’s first electric LCV will be sold exclusively to fleet customers. Prices begin at £44,310 ($59,700) for the Skoda Enyaq 85, with an additional £1,815 ($2,500) plus taxes required for the Cargo conversion.
