      Jeep has provided details about the Compass 4xe trim, which targets consumers who lead an active lifestyle.

      This SUV includes robust bumpers, a durable interior, and an elevated suspension.

      It will compete with the Toyota RAV4 Adventure, Honda CR-V Trailsport, and Forester.

      The latest version of the Jeep Compass maintains the brand's off-road heritage, and the 4xe trim most clearly embodies that purpose. This all-wheel-drive variant is designed with actual trail usage in mind, showcasing a more practical exterior, larger wheels, a lifted suspension, and an interior intended to withstand everyday wear and tear.

      While Jeep previously showcased the Compass 4xe’s exterior during its global launch last May, this marks the first comprehensive unveiling of the interior. Notable upgrades specific to the model include updated cloth upholstery treated with polyurethane, which Jeep claims is twice as durable as regular fabric and much easier to clean after muddy excursions.

      Interior Designed for Real-Life Use

      Additional features include anti-scratch surfaces on the rear seatbacks, making it suitable for transporting pets or outdoor equipment. The cabin also offers enhanced storage solutions and rubberized floor mats designed to manage mud, gravel, and water without hassle.

      Aesthetically, the interior adopts a more utilitarian look, incorporating tan accents on the dashboard, doors, and seats, along with subtle red highlights. Jeep asserts that the earth-toned color scheme helps conceal dirt effectively over time. A 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 16-inch infotainment display are included as standard.

      Enhanced Exterior for Off-Road Capability

      On the exterior, the Compass 4xe features lightly revamped front and rear bumpers coated with Jeep’s scratch-resistant Bumper Shield. It also boasts more prominent skid plates, a rear tow hook, a matte black anti-glare hood decal, and a new set of 19-inch wheels fitted with higher-profile tires.

      Crucially, the SUV is equipped with a suspension that is raised by 10 mm (0.4 inches) above the standard, improving off-road angles (27° approach, 31° departure, and 16° breakover).

      Built on the STLA Medium platform, the new Compass accommodates a range of powertrains, including mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric options. Jeep has not yet confirmed which specific powertrains will be available in the 4xe trim, though all-wheel drive and an additional off-road mode on the Selec-Terrain system are standard features. The plug-in hybrid variant delivers a combined 195 hp, while the fully electric dual-motor version boosts that output to 375 hp.

      Deliveries in Europe are anticipated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025, with production scheduled to occur in Italy. The U.S. variant remains uncertain due to ongoing tariff disputes. When it does launch, the Compass 4xe will compete with models such as the Toyota RAV4 Adventure, Honda CR-V Trailsport, and Subaru Forester Wilderness.
