The highly anticipated Ioniq 6 N model will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10, as revealed by Hyundai, which has recently shared a new teaser of this high-performance electric sedan.

The teaser highlights advanced suspension geometry and customizable drift settings. This electric vehicle is set to have its world premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this July.

Update: New details on the upcoming Ioniq 6 N have been released by Hyundai, including specifics regarding its chassis setup and driving modes. We have updated our original article.

Hyundai's electric performance lineup is evolving, with the Ioniq 6 N poised to elevate standards upon its official unveiling at Goodwood on July 10. Following the successful Ioniq 5 N, which demonstrated that an electric hot hatch can compete with traditional combustion vehicles, this new performance sedan aims to provide enhanced dynamics.

The development of the Ioniq 6 N has been quietly underway for some time, originating from the 2022 RN22e concept and followed by sightings of camouflaged prototypes in recent years. The first official teaser was released in April 2025 coincide with the introduction of the refreshed base model. Recent previews give a clearer insight, showcasing the car’s sportier design and intention.

The latest teaser series allows for a better view of the forthcoming EV, accentuating its performance-oriented design. Key features include a revised suspension configuration, improvements to Hyundai’s simulated gearbox and sound system, and enhanced drift tuning for refined track control.

      Distinctive Design, Familiar Shape

The Ioniq 6 N maintains the split headlight design and sporty bumpers from the updated N Line model, but several significant details distinguish it. At the rear, it features a prominent swan-neck rear wing above the integrated ducktail spoiler, providing a more track-ready appearance.

A closer examination reveals wider front and rear fenders alongside more aggressive bumper inserts signaling its boosted performance. The teaser images showcase the car in Hyundai N’s distinctive Performance Blue finish, complemented by familiar red accents. Lightweight alloy wheels fitted with high-performance tires complete the overall look.

Enhanced Chassis, Simulated Sounds, and Drift Options

Though the Ioniq 6 N shares its platform with the Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai has added multiple upgrades that enhance its lower ride height and aerodynamic shape. These modifications target improved handling and responsiveness, featuring a "fully redesigned suspension geometry." Major changes include a lowered roll center, extended caster trail, and new electronically controlled stroke-sensing (ECS) dampers to better manage body movement and grip.

The EV will also incorporate updated versions of Hyundai’s N e-Shift and N Active Sound+ systems, now accessible across all driving modes. These enhancements aim to replicate the sensation and sound of a classic performance vehicle, complete with simulated gear shifts. The faux dual-clutch transmission utilizes a close-ratio setup, accompanied by an “N Ambient Shift Light” to indicate virtual shift timing for the driver.

To further enhance performance, the upgraded N Drift Optimiser introduces a broader range of settings for drivers to adjust the car’s behavior according to their drifting skill level. Hyundai emphasizes that this system is tailored for track use.

While Hyundai has not yet disclosed official powertrain specifications, it is expected that the Ioniq 6 N will retain the dual-motor setup from the Ioniq 5 N. That model produces 601 hp (448 kW / 609 PS), temporarily increasing to 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) when the N Grin Boost is engaged. The same 84 kWh battery pack is anticipated to be utilized, providing sufficient power to compete directly with the Tesla Model 3 Performance.

Joon Park, Vice President and Head of the N Management Group, states that the Ioniq 6 N aims to offer “the most engaging driving experience possible in an EV.”

Further details are expected when the vehicle makes its appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10.
