The hot GV60 crossover prototype showcases a rear wing that appears even more aggressive than last year's Magma concept.

The Genesis GV60 Magma is revealing more details ahead of its official launch this summer.

For the first time, the brand's version of the Ioniq 5 N has been seen sporting a large rear spoiler.

The EV is set to debut at Goodwood in July, exactly one year after the unveiling of the Magma concept.

It's been two years since Hyundai introduced its impressive Ioniq 5 N and three years since Kia debuted the first EV6 GT, but only now is Genesis, the luxury division of the Korean conglomerate, preparing to reveal the type of performance electric vehicle it can create using the same fundamental electric components.

The GV60 Magma – with "Magma" being Genesis' new performance branding – is scheduled to make its global debut at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, one year after the original concept was introduced at the same venue.

While earlier spy images showed that the production version would differ slightly from the concept, new photos confirm that one feature has made it through with only minor modifications: the rear spoiler, which was previously obscured or missing from earlier prototypes. Although it's still wrapped in camouflage, its outline is clearly visible, showing end plates that are larger than those on the concept.

These end plates are not only larger but also positioned more vertically, which could result from aerodynamic studies or perhaps just because Genesis or its test participants prefer this design. A rear diffuser can also be seen below the bumper, along with the roof-mounted fins of the concept.

These fins resemble those found on a Porsche 911 GT3 RS, a car whose vertical wheel arch extensions appear to have influenced the lower sections of the Magma's arch extensions, although these details are difficult to discern in the images.

The Magma is likely to utilize the same 84 kWh battery as the Ioniq 5 N and EV6 GT; however, given their less-than-stellar real-world range of 200 miles (320 km), a larger battery would be beneficial. Following a recent upgrade to the EV6 GT, both of those vehicles produce 641 hp (650 PS / 478 kW), but some reports indicate Genesis may aim for even higher performance to reinforce its status as the group’s performance leader.

We also anticipate the inclusion of the virtual gear shift function that received positive feedback when the 5 N was first launched.
