The Audi S5 Avant has undergone performance, chassis, and aerodynamic enhancements by ABT.

The turbocharged mild-hybrid 3.0-liter V6 engine now produces 435 hp and 442.5 lb-ft of torque.

This sporty estate has a lower stance and is fitted with new 20-inch alloy wheels.

The new Audi A5 has been unveiled, positioned as the successor to the A4 with a more aggressive design and ample technology. Until the eagerly awaited RS5 arrives, the S5 remains the top model in the lineup, making it an ideal candidate for tuning by ABT Sportsline. The initial package for the S5 consists of a combination of aerodynamic modifications, chassis upgrades, and performance enhancements, bringing it closer to the RS specification.

Let's discuss the engine, which is the highlight. The ABT team has revitalized the turbocharged mild-hybrid 3.0-liter V6, which now delivers 435 hp (324 kW / 440 PS) and 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of torque. This represents an impressive increase of 72 hp (54 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) over the factory configuration, achieved with the ABT Power S performance module.

Interestingly, the modified S5 Avant's power output is just 9 hp (7 kW) short of the previous RS4 Avant, while the torque is on par. Power is distributed to all four wheels through the S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission and the quattro sport differential.

The added power is coupled with lowering springs, which lower the sporty estate by up to 25 mm (1 inch). Additionally, there are new 20-inch ABT Prime alloy wheels featuring a five-spoke design with a glossy black finish.

The new wheels and lowered profile are not the only enhancements that differentiate the ABT-tuned S5 Avant from the standard version. Audi Sport fans will notice the discreet yet impactful aerodynamic package, which includes a front splitter, glossy black accents around the bumper air intakes, and an extended rear spoiler. To complete the look, the rear diffuser now features quad stainless steel tailpipes, each measuring 102 mm (4 inches) in diameter and finished in matte black.

Inside, ABT has implemented some tasteful updates, including custom floor mats, an illuminated start-stop button, and distinct door sills. Otherwise, the cabin maintains its sporty character, equipped with leather-trimmed sport seats and attractive suede-like inserts. The model depicted also includes a triple-screen setup that covers the entire dashboard.

Despite ABT opting for the S5 Avant (the more practical wagon) for the photo session, the same tuning package should be applicable to the S5 Sedan, the only body style available in North America, minus the rear spoiler.

The complete ABT Sportsline kit is priced at €14,900 (approximately $16,900), including local taxes, but remember to account for installation fees. In Germany, the base price of the Audi S5 Avant begins at €80,150 ($90,700), but it may be challenging to stay within that base price as you select additional options.
