Genesis is set to challenge the motorsports establishment, with the GV60 Magma being the first to embrace the "race on Sunday, sell on Monday" philosophy.

Genesis is venturing into performance vehicles, beginning with the new GV60 Magma.

This model shares its foundation and battery technology with the Ioniq 5 N but delivers greater power.

A range of aerodynamic enhancements will accompany modifications to the chassis.

Originally intended as the luxury arm of the Hyundai Group, Genesis is now expanding into the performance sector. The brand is even preparing to compete in the Hypercar class at Le Mans. Their initial serious contender in the performance vehicle arena is the GV60 Magma, which has been seen completing fast laps at the Nürburgring.

As the first product of its Magma performance sub-brand, this new model aims to be a premium alternative to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Kia EV6 GT. It has been in development for quite some time and will be based on the updated GV60.

The GV60 Magma distinguishes itself from the regular GV60 with a more assertive front design, featuring aerodynamic canards on either side and a larger splitter. Like other recent prototypes, it sports sporty black wheels and vivid red brake calipers. In a forward-looking design choice, the Magma incorporates cameras in place of traditional wing mirrors, a feature already offered in the current GV60 range.

Additionally, the fenders have been altered, equipped with aero ducts situated behind both the front and rear wheels. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS also features similar aerodynamic fins, although they are larger in size. Genesis appears to have drawn inspiration from Weissach's top models by adding aerodynamic strakes to the roof.

Similar to the Ioniq 5 N and EV6 GT, the GV60 Magma is likely to utilize the same 84 kWh battery pack. The Hyundai model reaches a peak output of 641 hp using its dual electric motors, while the updated EV6 GT is slightly more powerful at 645 hp. According to our sources, the Genesis may produce even greater power, possibly reaching near the 700 hp mark.

Like its sibling models, the GV60 Magma is anticipated to feature the Virtual Gear Shift function and an engine sound that emulates a conventional internal combustion engine.
