If Lobos are priced at $50K, then this custom SEMA Ford Maverick at $57K isn’t too unreasonable.

This past week, we had our first look at the refreshed 2025 Ford Maverick, including its new street performance variant, the Lobo. While we are quite impressed with what Ford has accomplished with its compact pickup, it's undeniable that entering a base model now costs 30% more than it did five years ago. In a market where Lobos are priced at $45,000, investing in a fully customized truck for $57,000 seems less outrageous than it would have previously.

That’s the asking price at a dealership for a 2022 Leif Johnson SEMA build currently posted on Facebook Marketplace. This was the shop's inaugural SEMA build in 2022, and like the Lobo, it highlights the Maverick’s mini truck potential.

Developed in collaboration with Ford and Saleen Performance parts, it has been almost entirely re-bodied using a custom kit created after 3D-mapping the truck's exterior. The air dam, splitter, rockers, rear bumper, tailgate spoiler, and fender flares were all custom-made for this project.

Not satisfied with just the eye-catching exterior, the team added a custom air suspension that can lower the Maverick nearly to the ground, but the height-adjustable system can also be set to a more practical height for daily driving.

The pink style bar in the bed is equipped with four marine-grade JBL speakers—two six-inch and two eight-inch—connected to a 1,000-watt amplifier. Additionally, the arm is motorized, allowing it to be lowered into the bed when not in use (and hypothetically letting it stay concealed beneath a tonneau cover).

Though a few years old, the build shows little sign of wear. The seller states it has only 2,774 miles on the odometer, meaning you’d essentially acquire a nearly new, three-year-old Maverick for about twice its original purchase price. That amount could get you a well-equipped F-150, so you’d certainly need to have a strong desire for it, but considering the Maverick's ongoing popularity, we’d bet there’s someone out there eager for this particular offering.

Ford's budget-friendly pickup has become more expensive than before, so why not opt for a customized Maverick instead?
