The 2006 Jeep Wrangler X is equipped with an 8.3-liter Viper V10 engine under its hood.
It boasts Dana 60 axles, a dual-range transfer case, and an upgraded suspension.
This custom build recently went for $34,000 on Bring a Trailer’s auction site.
This TJ Jeep Wrangler X is quite adorable, don’t you think? The two-door off-roader is finished in white and is mounted on 17-inch wheels featuring 35-inch BFGoodrich Baja T/A tires. It seems like an ideal Jeep for cruising along the beach, navigating through town, or tackling challenging off-road trails. However, lurking beneath the surface is an engine that could turn this vehicle into a beast on a drag strip as well.
The Jeep recently changed ownership on Bring a Trailer, selling for $34,000. While the current Wrangler Rubicon 392 with its 6.4-liter Hemi V8 may be impressive, this one is powered by the enormous 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V10 from a Dodge Viper. We’re not quite sure how that massive engine fit under the hood, but somehow it did.
Connected to the Viper’s V10 is a four-speed automatic transmission that powers all four wheels. It features Dana 60 axles both front and rear, a dual-range transfer case, and approximately 500 hp available – more than enough to deliver an exhilarating experience.
Inside the cabin, you'll find a complete roll cage, a custom dashboard, and new seats covered in black and red leather. Additionally, there's a Clarion audio system, a pair of subwoofers, and a newly designed dashboard and center console. Significant attention has also been given to the suspension setup, including Dirt Logic coilovers in the front, Pro Comp shocks in the rear, and adjustable sway bars. Larger brakes have been added as well, which is essential given the performance boost over a standard Wrangler.
This Jeep has reportedly been driven around 2,200 miles (3,540 km) since the engine swap. It sold for $34,000, and while that price may seem high for a 2006 Wrangler, it appears reasonable considering the impressive performance this vehicle offers.
