Although it boasts a performance-inspired design, this unofficial R.S. edition does not offer any additional power.

A German dealer, Carpoint, has introduced the most visually appealing version of the Dacia Duster to date.

The Duster Redust Sport edition includes numerous upgrades for both the exterior and interior.

While the engine remains unchanged, it features coilover suspension and new wheels.

The Dacia Duster has captured the hearts of European customers with its rugged appearance, roomy interior, and unmatched affordability, even surpassing the Tesla Model Y as the continent's best-selling vehicle of 2024. For those seeking a sportier aesthetic and a more road-oriented stance while maintaining budget-friendliness, Carpoint has launched the Redust Sport edition.

The unofficial Dacia Duster RS (Redust Sport, as opposed to Renault Sport) was initially seen in digital renderings a few months back. Now, with real-world models making their debut, it proves to fulfill its bold claims with an extensive array of visual enhancements.

The Redust Sport builds on Carpoint's previous Duster offerings, showcasing a lowered profile due to KW coilover suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, and wheel spacers. The new body kit appears even more aggressive, featuring a prominent hood scoop, 20 mm (0.8 inches) of added width from fender extensions, deeper side skirts, a rear spoiler, and the absence of roof rails for a more streamlined appearance.

To emphasize the "sporty" transformation, Carpoint has added a centrally positioned dual-exhaust system that would typically be found on high-performance vehicles or supercars, rather than in one of the most affordable SUVs available. Lastly, the bodywork has been wrapped in an eye-catching orange color, paired with a glossy black finish for the plastic components and special covers for the rear side windows.

Inside, the Dacia enhances the drama even further. Leather seats feature bold orange inserts and stitching, reminiscent of luxury Mansory vehicles. The orange theme is carried through to the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and door panels, all highlighted by RGB ambient lighting similar to that of a gaming keyboard.

No Performance Boost, Just Enhanced Style

Despite its striking appearance, the Redust Sport lacks performance enhancements. The showcased model utilizes Renault's self-charging hybrid system, generating 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS). An alternative variant featuring a 1.3 TCe mild-hybrid with 128 hp (96 kW / 130 PS) and all-wheel drive is also offered, distinguished by a different set of five-spoke 20-inch wheels and a matte black wrap. Interior modifications for this variant are limited to Velour floor mats.

Both models are based on the Duster Extreme, the top trim level that already comes equipped with a generous amount of standard features.

      What’s the Price?

If you wish to acquire this sportiest Duster, be prepared for a higher price tag. The mild-hybrid models are priced at €42,490 (approximately $44,500 at current rates), while the hybrid version costs an impressive €52,990 ($55,500). This marks an increase of €21,490 ($22,500) compared to a standard Duster Extreme Hybrid from Carpoint, placing it in the same price range as BMW and Mercedes vehicles.

Is it worth the price? That ultimately depends on how much you value exclusivity and whether you're ready to invest luxury SUV money into a customized Dacia.
