Sales of the CT5 surged by 11.4% last year, and a redesigned version is already being planned.

According to reports from 17 hours ago, Cadillac sedan sales increased by 5.3% last year, attributed to the updated CT5 model.

Although the sedan will be discontinued later this year, a second-generation version is in development.

The Escalade had its most successful year in nearly twenty years, with sales rising by 20.4%.

Despite the challenges faced by sedans in recent years, they are still holding their ground, as evident from Cadillac's sales figures that indicate a renewed interest in the CT5.

In the previous year, Cadillac sold 16,561 units in the U.S., reflecting an 11.4% increase. This significant growth was likely fueled by a recent facelift that included a new front end and a contemporary 33-inch curved display with Google integration.

Cadillac has confirmed a new gas-powered CT5 is on the way.

However, not all news was positive, as sales of the CT4 dropped by 9.5% to 5,616 units. This entry-level sedan did not receive a similar update and is set to be discontinued this June.

While the departure of the model is unfortunate, Cadillac managed to sell a total of 22,177 sedans in 2025, up from 21,069 units the year before, leading to a 5.3% increase. The actual figure might be higher since Cadillac's data did not account for Celestiq deliveries.

      New CT5 on the Way

The strong demand is part of the reason Cadillac opted to create a next-generation CT5 with an internal combustion engine. This model was announced last October and will continue to be manufactured at the Lansing Grand River Assembly, which was initially expected to become an electric vehicle production hub.

It is rumored to be based on an upgraded version of the rear-wheel-drive Alpha platform, potentially accompanied by a sibling model, possibly a Camaro sedan. Whether this will happen remains to be seen, but it’s hard to believe the plant would only produce one model.

      V-Series Achieves Record Sales

The positive news extends further, as the V-Series lineup has been well-received by enthusiasts. While GM did not provide specific figures, it mentioned that Cadillac reported its “best-ever V-Series sales” in 2025.

This surge in sales is not surprising, given that the luxury brand has been steadily expanding the V-Series lineup. The CT4- and CT5-V models were joined by an Escalade-V in the summer of 2022, followed by the Lyriq-V, which debuted last January boasting 615 hp (459 kW / 624 PS).

The Optiq-V was introduced last fall, starting at $67,300, plus a $1,795 destination fee. While it may not be the most affordable option, it features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system generating 519 hp (387 kW / 526 PS) and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque, allowing the crossover to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and travel up to 278 miles (447 km) on a single charge.

      Another Successful Year for Cadillac

Overall, Cadillac's sales increased by 8.3% for the year, driven primarily by strong demand for the Escalade, which saw its sales jump by 20.4% to 49,366 units – its best performance since 2007.

The electric Escalade IQ is also performing well, with 8,115 units sold in 2025. For context, Infiniti sold 13,590 QX80s while Lincoln moved 22,185 Navigators.

In terms of electric vehicles, the Optiq and Vistiq performed reasonably well, with 12,187 buyers for the entry-level EV and 7,879 for the three-row model. However, these figures are modest compared to the sales generated by the XT4 and XT6 during their peak.

Additionally, XT5 sales fell by 6.5%, but a new model is expected to arrive in the second half of 2027, likely mirroring the Chinese variant introduced in 2024.
