Stellantis sold over a dozen discontinued vehicles in 2025, including new Darts and Grand Caravans, while experiencing a 3% decrease in US sales.

Dodge Dart sales increased in 2025 despite its discontinuation in 2016.

Fiat managed to sell two 500Ls, and Dodge sold 17 Journeys last year.

These "zombie" cars were sold long after their production had ceased.

Stellantis has released its complete sales figures for 2025 in the United States. While the board focuses on explaining a 3 percent decline from 2024, there are intriguing details hidden within the report.

A few Americans opted to purchase new vehicles that have not been manufactured in years, rescuing some forgotten models from deep within dealership inventories.

Among these automotive relics is the Dodge Dart, a compact sedan previously built on Fiat and Alfa Romeo platforms. Although production ended in 2016, six new Darts were sold in 2025. This marks a 500 percent increase from the single unit sold the previous year, for those keeping track.

Another revived model is the Dodge Journey (2009-2020), which sold 17 units in 2025. This was accompanied by two Fiat 500Ls (2014-2020) and nine units of the older Dodge Grand Caravan (2008-2020). These figures confirm that if a vehicle remains at a dealership long enough, eventually someone will buy it.

Sadly for Viper enthusiasts, sales of the V10-powered model have stagnated, with only one unit sold in 2025. However, a brief search of dealer inventories reveals that a new 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is still available in New Jersey, priced at an astonishing $800,000.

Overall, Stellantis had a mixed year. The company sold a total of 1,260,344 vehicles in the US this year, reflecting a 3 percent decline from 1,303,570 in 2024. The most significant drops were seen in Alfa Romeo, down 36 percent, followed by Dodge at 28 percent and Fiat at 14 percent. In contrast, Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler remained relatively stable.

There was a positive development, however. In the last quarter of 2025, Stellantis saw a 4 percent year-over-year increase, driven by strong performances from several key models. Sales of the Ram 1500 surged by 23 percent, while the Dodge Durango more than doubled with a 114 percent increase. Jeep’s Wagoneer rose by 67 percent, and the Gladiator saw an impressive 93 percent uptick.

These gains occur as Stellantis undertakes a significant product transition. In October, the company announced a $13 billion investment over four years, aimed at five new vehicle launches and a 50 percent increase in domestic production.
