The new RAV4 has made its debut in Japan featuring hybrid power and new optional packages that enhance its appearance for a sportier or adventurous vibe, while maintaining performance.

Toyota introduces the RAV4 in Japan, available exclusively as a hybrid model. The Lifestyle and Outdoor packages provide body kits and interior updates.

A plug-in hybrid variant and a GR Sport trim are set to launch in 2026.

Having already launched in North America, Europe, and China, the latest Toyota RAV4 has firmly established its presence in key global markets, and now it has finally arrived in Japan with two styling packages created in collaboration with Modellista.

These kits cater to Japanese consumers seeking a sharper or more off-road-inspired look, adding flair to the hybrid SUV while leaving the underlying performance unchanged.

In Japan, the RAV4 is offered solely as a self-charging hybrid, available in two trims: Z (Core) and Adventure (Woodland). Toyota has confirmed that a plug-in hybrid model will be introduced, expected to join the lineup before the end of the 2026 fiscal year, along with a GR Sport variant.

Although the domestic range may seem limited compared to other regions, Japanese consumers have access to a wide array of factory and aftermarket accessories from Toyota, Modellista, and TZ that are not available elsewhere.

These accessories can be purchased individually or packaged into two pre-configured kits: the Lifestyle Package for the Z trim and the Outdoor Package for the Adventure.

      **Lifestyle Package (RAV4 Z)**

The Lifestyle Package emphasizes a sporty look, including a Modellista body kit with a front splitter, additional LEDs, side skirts, a rear bumper extension, a grille cover, and new mirror caps. Buyers can also select Modellista’s 20-inch alloy wheels, which are sold separately.

Inside, the Lifestyle update includes practical enhancements like an all-season shade, storage solutions for the cargo area, and extended ambient lighting.

      **Outdoor Package (RAV4 Adventure)**

For those with a more adventurous taste, the Adventure trim receives its own modifications through the Outdoor Package, which swaps the body kit for bulkier, trail-inspired accents: a new grille insert with integrated LEDs, aluminum-style skid plates, faux side gills, and wider overfenders.

This package also features a hood deflector and clever storage options within the cabin. To complete the look, the SUV can be fitted with optional 18-inch alloy wheels finished in Matte Olive.

The upcoming RAV4 GR Sport may also have additional GR Parts, although specifics have not yet been detailed.

None of the packages provide any performance or chassis enhancements. The hybrid's 2.5-liter engine generates a combined output of up to 237 hp (177 kW / 240 PS), similar to its US counterpart. Power is distributed to all four wheels through the E-Four electric 4WD system, featuring Trail and Snow drive modes.

Toyota has not yet disclosed specifications for the plug-in hybrid variant, but for reference, the American version, RAV4 Prime, delivers 320 hp (238 kW / 324 PS).

Pricing for the RAV4 in Japan starts at ¥4,500,000 (approximately $29,000) for the Adventure trim and ¥4,900,000 ($31,500) for the Z. Optional packages come at a premium, with the Outdoor Package priced at ¥508,310 ($3,300) and the more style-oriented Lifestyle Package costing ¥586,760 ($3,800).
