Brad Pitt and George Russell bring excitement to Las Vegas with AMG's electric super sedan boasting over 1,000 horsepower.
The road variant of AMG’s GT XX concept is expected to generate around 1,000 hp.
AMG's competitor to the Taycan and e-tron GT features a realistic simulated internal combustion engine soundtrack.
In a promotional video, George Russell showcased his drifting abilities alongside the car's stylish design.
Mercedes-AMG is making steady progress on the long-anticipated all-electric GT 4 Door Coupe, and to enhance its visibility, the company has tapped Hollywood star Brad Pitt.
Recently involved with an upcoming Formula 1 film, Pitt appeared in Las Vegas during the Grand Prix weekend, taking the spotlight in a new promotional campaign for the vehicle.
The German automaker presented a lightly-camouflaged prototype of the new AMG GT 4 Door Coupe in Las Vegas, offering Mercedes F1 driver George Russell the opportunity to drive it along the Strip. This same vehicle was featured in a commercial with Pitt and Russell, showcasing the car’s performance capabilities.
In the promotional video, Pitt arrives at a valet station to collect the keys to his vehicle, which is the camouflaged prototype. The valet calls upon the driver, who is none other than Russell, to bring the car to Pitt.
Russell then displays remarkable burnouts and drifts through the hotel’s underground parking garage before delivering the car to Pitt at the hotel entrance.
What Powers It?
This showcased vehicle is the road-ready version of the AMG GT XX prototype that was revealed earlier this year. Like its concept counterpart, the production model features a sleek design that positions it as a strong competitor to the Porsche Taycan and Audi RS e-tron GT.
Though an all-electric sedan from AMG may displease some purists, it’s evident that the automaker aims to make it enjoyable to drive and provide plenty of excitement.
The new AMG GT 4 Door Coupe is built on the AMG-EA platform, utilizing aluminum, steel, and lightweight composite materials in its construction. Like the concept version, it is expected to feature three axial flux motors that combine to generate over 1,000 hp.
