Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport are reinterpreting Honda’s NA1 NSX sports car.

The new model features a carbon body while keeping the iconic pop-up lights and a modified Honda V6 engine.

This six-speed manual version is set to be fully unveiled in the first half of 2026.

In 1984, Honda and Pininfarina collaborated on the HP-X, a mid-engine sports car that ultimately led to the revolutionary NSX. Now, over 40 years later, Pininfarina is once again reimagining the Honda/Acura NSX in partnership with Italy’s JAS Motorsport, and we have obtained the first images.

The two teaser images reveal a design that, thankfully, remains close to the original NSX while updating some of its more outdated features and adding a bit of flair.

The black canopy is preserved, along with the pop-up lights, rear hoop spoiler, and the classic rear light signature.

However, upon closer inspection, numerous changes become apparent. The new bodywork, constructed entirely from carbon fiber, showcases a more muscular stance with vents positioned behind the enlarged front fenders.

The rear-quarter panel intakes have been enlarged, and a vent has been added to the front hood, reminiscent of the formidable first-generation (NA2) NSX-R.

What significantly enhances this update is the vastly improved stance. The original NSX had a narrow rear track and an oddly lengthy rear overhang, and while it's difficult to fully gauge the shape and proportions from just two teaser images, this new version appears to resolve those issues effectively.

It also prominently displays JAS badges instead of Honda ones, which should please Honda's legal team.

In related news, Italdesign has begun teasing its own tribute to the NSX, presenting an updated version that features an NSX-R GT-style roof snorkel.

Pininfarina has not revealed the interior details of the still-unnamed vehicle but emphasizes that it is intended as a road car rather than a bare-bones track model—perhaps indicating plans for a more focused version down the line.

The vehicle will feature a tuned version of Honda’s V6, which is expected to exceed the 270 hp (274 PS) that Honda and Acura claimed for the original 3.0-liter model in 1990.

It will also come equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and will be available in both left- and right-hand drive configurations; however, details regarding production numbers and pricing remain undisclosed.

Further information is anticipated in the coming months, with Pininfarina confirming a global reveal in the first half of 2026.

Next year promises to be exciting for NSX enthusiasts as Italdesign recently started teasing its own reimagined version of the classic model.
