It's now 2025, and I remain amazed by Google Street View. You mean I can enter nearly any address—whether in the United States, Japan, or elsewhere—and check out the surroundings without being physically present? Incredible! I use it frequently when writing blogs for this site, and thanks to a recent partnership between Ford and Google, I won’t be limited to typical city streets anymore. A team of Ford vehicles recently traversed the entire 5,900-mile TransAmerica trail system, led by a Bronco equipped with a Street View camera.

Clearly, the TransAmerica Trail is extensive. The Ford fleet's journey through 13 states spanned 35 days, beginning in Port Orford, Oregon, and concluding in Nags Head, North Carolina, as they navigated various terrains: sandy beaches on the West Coast, slickrock in Utah, and gravel and rocky paths in numerous other states.

They even passed through my area in the Ozarks. If it’s part of the TransAmerica trail, Ford and Google have captured it.

Naturally, this serves as excellent marketing for the Bronco, which covered the entire trail, but a Ranger and an Expedition Tremor also participated. It's reassuring to know that the whole family can join in; just remember to adhere to the Tread Lightly principles, as Ford did here.

This will undoubtedly be useful for me when some individual in a Cybertruck gets hopelessly stuck on the trail, and I'm assigned to cover the story. If that describes you, consider planning your route using Street View first.
