The shocks from Unplugged Performance are designed to work with the dual-motor AWD and Cyberbeast versions.
Unplugged’s new Cybershocks promise a smoother experience for towing and hauling.
Tesla’s air suspension adjusts firmness, which can sometimes lead to rear instability.
The installation process is straightforward and compatible with dual-motor AWD and Cyberbeast trims.
While the Cybertruck has sparked considerable discussion, the inclusion of standard air suspension and rear steering undeniably enhances its allure. Nevertheless, Tesla tuning expert Unplugged Performance thinks improvements can still be made.
The company has launched a new suspension upgrade that enhances the system by integrating secondary shocks into the rear configuration.
Referred to as the Cybershocks, this system aims to improve ride quality both on and off-road, as well as during towing or hauling. Each unit features adjustable compression and rebound damping, conveniently located within the rear wishbone for better responsiveness.
Unplugged points out a minor but significant flaw in the Cybertruck’s factory suspension. As the air shocks make adjustments, the spring firmness varies, potentially leaving the rear under-damped at higher speeds or with heavy loads.
The secondary shocks are intended to mitigate this issue, allowing the rear suspension to recover more quickly from bumps and reducing any resultant oscillations.
The installation has been intentionally designed to be easy. Owners simply have to remove a wheel and a plastic cover, attach the upper and lower brackets, and then install the new shock in between.
Unplugged Performance’s Cybershocks may be pricey, but that is expected in the Cybertruck sector. The kit is priced at $2,995 and is compatible with dual-motor AWD and Cyberbeast variants of the electric vehicle. It also comes with a one-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
Moreover, Unplugged, which asserts that it has created the world’s first indestructible wheel, encourages Cybertruck owners to take their vehicles racing and off-roading, with assurances that doing so will not void the warranty.
These shocks represent the latest addition to Unplugged’s extensive range of accessories and upgrades available for the electric truck. The company offers steel rock sliders, a carbon fiber hood, roof racks, upgraded wheels, braided brake lines, and new sway bars.
The company's flagship product, outfitted with all its Cybertruck accessories, carries a staggering price tag of $300,000.
