Porsche has unveiled the interior of the Cayenne Electric, which showcases a wall of screens, including a curved infotainment display.
The new Cayenne Electric features a curved Flow Display along with an optional passenger screen. This SUV introduces more personalization options and enhanced comfort features. It is set to debut in late 2025, with the top trim generating over 1,000 horsepower.
Porsche is preparing to launch the much-anticipated Cayenne Electric, a distinct addition to its current gasoline and plug-in hybrid offerings. Although the complete reveal is expected later this year, Porsche has given an early look at the interior, which resembles a large OLED showroom.
The Cayenne Electric represents what Porsche calls the "interior of the future," a design that will be incorporated into future models. The centerpiece is the Flow Display, a curved OLED screen that dominates the dashboard. Fortunately, essential controls like temperature, fan speed, and volume still use physical switches.
However, despite these nods to tradition, the interior is quite distant from a classic Porsche cabin, unless one associates Stuttgart's heritage with mood lighting and large tablet screens.
Screens are prominent throughout the interior. The curved touchscreen is paired with a 14.25-inch OLED digital instrument cluster, an optional 87-inch augmented reality head-up display, and a 14.9-inch passenger screen for app control and video streaming. Additional technology includes the Porsche Digital Key, shareable with up to seven users, and a new AI-powered voice assistant.
Porsche claims the Cayenne Electric offers unprecedented personalization with 13 interior color combinations, four interior packages, five accent packs, extended ambient lighting, and five digital themes. New Mood Modes adjust lighting, climate, sound, and seating to suit the driver’s preferences.
The interior will also feature new materials, with leather available in Magnesium Grey, Lavender, or Sage Grey. The vegan-friendly Race-Tex interior is highlighted for its Pepita-patterned textile, celebrated as a nod to Porsche's heritage.
Among the options available, the largest glass roof ever fitted to a Porsche will include a sliding front section and a Variable Light Control feature with clear, semi-transparent, and matte settings. Additionally, surface heating will be provided on touch areas like armrests and door cards, complementing heated seats and steering wheel. The standard electrically adjustable rear seats will prioritize either passenger space or cargo area.
For those seeking something more unique, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and the Sonderwunsch program will offer bespoke options for an additional cost.
In terms of exterior design, camouflaged prototypes captured by spy photographers confirm that the Cayenne Electric will be available in both standard SUV and coupe-SUV versions. The styling merges the current Cayenne's proportions with influences from the smaller Macan EV, sporting a more aerodynamic design.
Underneath, the large Electric SUV will utilize an updated version of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The flagship version is anticipated to deliver over 1,000 horsepower, surpassing the 730 hp of the current Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
The vehicle will feature a 113 kWh battery pack with 400 kW fast-charging, wireless charging capability, and a range exceeding 370 miles (595 km). Interior photos suggest an estimated range of 546 km (340 miles) on the cluster with the battery not fully charged.
Additionally, the Cayenne Electric will come equipped with Porsche’s Active Ride Suspension and will have a towing capacity of up to 7,716 lbs (3,500 kg), comparable to many midsize pickups powered by internal combustion engines.
With its debut scheduled for late 2025, Stuttgart is expected to release more details in the forthcoming weeks and months.
