The automaker has announced the global premiere of a new Honda 0 Series model and a compact EV prototype, both set for production.

Honda teased its displays for the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, which begins on October 29. A promotional image features nine covered vehicles, including both new releases and models already available for sale.

Key highlights include another Honda 0 Series model and a brand new compact electric vehicle.

Update: More information has emerged regarding Honda's plans for the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, previously known as the Tokyo Motor Show until two years ago, which opens on October 29. The company will present five forthcoming production vehicles, including two brand-new EVs making their world debuts.

Honda is preparing for a bustling Tokyo auto show, with the major highlight being a new addition to the 0 Series lineup. This model will make its appearance alongside the Saloon and SUV prototypes, both slated for production in 2026. According to the company, this new entry aims to “enable more people to appreciate the value of the Honda 0 Series.”

While many hope for an electric sports car, the shapes seen in the official teaser indicate that it will likely be another crossover or SUV. Earlier announcements regarding Honda's future EV strategy included a large three-row SUV expected to debut in 2027, which is reportedly on hold, a compact SUV for 2028, and a small SUV for 2029.

      More Electrified Products

Another confirmed debut is “the prototype of a compact EV,” which promises to offer “outstanding usability and driving pleasure.” Honda stated that the prototype is “currently undergoing road testing in regions with high demand for compact EVs, including Japan, the UK, and other Asian countries.” This suggests it could be the camouflaged Super EV prototype revealed at Goodwood earlier this year.

The unnamed model will be complemented by the similar electric Honda N-One e: kei car, recently launched in Japan. In a different section, Mugen is expected to showcase its own version of the N-One e: equipped with optional accessories.

Honda will also display a prototype of the CR-V e:HEV, which is set to launch in Japan, alongside the hydrogen-powered CR-V e:FCEV. Additionally, the fully electric Acura RSX Prototype will be presented in a new color.

      The Prelude Will Be There

The revived Honda Prelude will be showcased in its final production form, following the nearly identical prototype revealed in 2023. The hybrid model became available in Japan earlier this month, creating significant excitement due to its premium price. A closer examination of the teaser shows two coupe silhouettes, raising speculation about the identity of the second coupe.

While some may wish for a performance-oriented Prelude Type R, it is more likely that it will be another standard variant with a different specification. This could potentially be the ON Limited Edition featuring a black roof and dealer-added enhancements, a modified version with the optional Sports Style package, or simply a standard Prelude in a different color.

      Beyond Four Wheels

Vehicles will not be the only attractions at the show. Honda plans to feature seven motorcycles, a range of power products, and even an aircraft. The aviation highlights will include a full-scale interior mockup of the HondaJet Elite II small business jet and a “sustainable rocket.”

On the motorcycle front, notable presentations include the world premieres of an electric urban motorcycle concept and an e-MTB (mountain bike) prototype intended for production. These will be joined by the CUV e: scooter, the Rebel 1100 S DCT motorcycle, and more.

The press days for the Tokyo show will take place on October 29 and 30, while the public will have the opportunity to visit from October 31 to November 9. Honda enthusiasts can also visit the automaker’s dedicated website for further information about the show.
