Similar to the GLC EQ, the electric C-Class is expected to support DC charging speeds of up to 330 kW.

The electric sedan will be built on the new MB.EA platform, utilizing 800-volt technology.

Like the GLC EQ, the upcoming C-Class EQ is likely to debut with a 94 kWh battery pack.

Mercedes has indicated that the new sedan will have a driving range of up to 497 miles (800 km) on a single charge.

Mercedes-Benz is not only introducing a competitor to the second-generation BMW iX with the unveiling of the new GLC featuring EQ Technology in Germany, but it is also preparing to launch an all-electric version of the C-Class to rival the new BMW i3. Recently, an intriguing teaser of this new model has been released.

This dimly lit image was shared during the unveiling of the new GLC and reveals that, similar to the SUV, it will feature a large front grille. This grille can be illuminated with hundreds of small LEDs, giving the new electric C-Class a commanding presence on the road, although it may leave many loyal customers puzzled. It has four lit horizontal slats, one more than the three present on the GLC EQ.

In addition, the teaser indicates that the electric C-Class will be equipped with the latest Mercedes-Benz headlights, featuring star-shaped LED daytime running lights. The overall design is anticipated to resemble that of the combustion-powered C-Class, which this model will be sold alongside.

The sedan will be based on the MB.EA platform, which is also used for the GLC EQ. This suggests we can expect the same 94 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and 800-volt framework, allowing for charging speeds of up to 330 kW. Notably, the German manufacturer is promising a driving range of 497 miles (800 km) for the electric C-Class, which will likely be branded as the C-Class with EQ Technology.

Details regarding the powertrain remain unclear, but the C-Class EQ is expected to offer various rear- and all-wheel drive options.

There is limited information about the interior of the new model. It could be released with the same 39.1-inch seamless MBUX Hyperscreen found in the GLC EQ, or it may come with the slightly more straightforward Superscreen from the new CLA, featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment display, and a 14-inch passenger screen.
