Ford’s Latest F-150 Lightning Trim Addresses Its Main Issues at No Extra Cost | Carscoops

The new F-150 Lightning STX for 2026 enhances range and power while maintaining the same price, positioning it as a robust successor to the XLT.

The updated F-150 Lightning STX takes the place of the outgoing XLT trim.

It features a larger battery, increased range, and enhanced total power output.

The STX comes equipped with all-terrain tires and off-road running boards sourced from the Tremor.

While electric pickups have yet to fully capture traditional truck enthusiasts, Ford remains committed to advancing the segment. The 2026 F-150 Lightning STX succeeds the XLT, delivering what many customers desire: extended range, added power, and a more rugged appearance, all without increasing the price.

The truck is equipped with a standard 123 kWh battery pack, providing an EPA-estimated range of 290 miles (467 km) of driving. This represents a significant increase of 50 miles (80 km) over the previous XLT, which featured a 98 kWh battery. This means fewer charging stops and greater flexibility for longer journeys.

In terms of performance, the STX offers improved power compared to its predecessor. It utilizes dual electric motors that generate a combined output of 536 hp (400 kW / 543 PS), resulting in an increase of 84 hp (63 kW) compared to the XLT. The torque remains the same at 775 lb-ft (1,051 Nm), distributed to all four wheels via a standard rear e-locking differential.

Aesthetically, the STX distinguishes itself with a black grille highlighted in Grabber Blue, STX decals on the hood and sides of the bed, and unique emblems on the front fenders. It is also equipped with black alloy wheels featuring all-terrain tires, as well as off-road running boards taken from the gas-powered Tremor for a more rugged look.

Inside, the STX features cloth upholstery with Grabber Blue accents and Lightning STX embroidery on the seats. A heated steering wheel is standard, and buyers also have the option of a black vinyl floor for easier cleaning.

Additionally, Ford has updated the paint options for the F-150 Lightning in 2026. New colors include Argon Blue, Marsh Gray, and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, expanding the existing palette to offer buyers more customization options.

Perhaps the most unexpected aspect of this update is what has remained unchanged: the price. The MSRP for the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX is $63,345, which matches the price of the XLT it replaces. The first units of this electric truck are anticipated to arrive at dealerships in early 2026. Given the new features, Ford expects the STX to be among the best-selling configurations for the 2026 model year.
