The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut achieved the astonishing feat of going from 0-400-0 km/h in just 25.21 seconds.

This new record narrowly surpassed the Rimac Nevera R's previous time of 25.79 seconds.

Performance enhancements will be implemented in customer models around the globe.

Before the Bugatti Veyron, no production vehicle had managed to exceed the 400 km/h (248.5 mph) threshold. That achievement once epitomized the pinnacle of automotive performance.

Today, a select number of hypercars not only easily exceed this mark but can also accelerate to 400 km/h and halt in a shorter time than what the Veyron and its successor, the Chiron, required to merely reach that speed. The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut now once again claims the top position in this prestigious performance realm.

This isn't the first occasion the Jesko Absolut has held this title. In July 2024, it managed the dash to 400 km/h and back to a stop in just 27.83 seconds. However, this time was recently surpassed by the Rimac Nevera R at 25.79 seconds. Not wanting to let a competing hypercar manufacturer take the lead, Koenigsegg set out to enhance the Jesko Absolut's speed even further.

      Achieving Greater Speed

To accomplish this, they introduced Absolut Overdrive. By employing advanced software strategies, Koenigsegg reduced the level of traction control intervention off the line, resulting in the quickest speed yet.

The same test vehicle that posted 27.83 seconds last year has now accomplished the same task in just 25.21 seconds, narrowly surpassing the Rimac. Adding to the significance of this achievement is the fact that it was performed on a drying runway.

      Context on the Figures

To provide context for the Jesko’s time, the Bugatti Chiron set a new 0-400-0 km/h (0-248.5-0 mph) record in 2017 with a time of 41.96 seconds. The Jesko surpasses this by over 16 seconds.

It also recorded notable times in other tests. The sprint to 400 km/h (248.5 mph) was completed in 16.77 seconds, and braking from 400-0 km/h (248.5-0 mph) took only 8.44 seconds. The car also achieved 0-250-0 mph (0-402.3-0 km/h) in 25.67 seconds.

There is further good news for the fortunate owners of the Jesko Absolut. Koenigsegg has announced that the enhancements made will be made available to customer cars, enabling them to enjoy the same remarkable performance in their own vehicles.
