A Government Services Administration website features an armored Polaris similar to the one used by Trump, listed at nearly $190,000.
The most recent addition to President Trump’s Secret Service convoy is a unique Polaris.
This armored four-door Ranger XP 1000 made its debut during Trump's trip to Scotland.
This vehicle could potentially be utilized in emergencies involving the President.
While golf is a hobby enjoyed by many, for Donald Trump, it is a key aspect of his identity. Over the weekend, the US President ventured to Scotland to finalize some deals and, naturally, managed to squeeze in several rounds of golf at the Trump Turnberry resort.
As anticipated, the well-known sight of the 45th and 47th President playing golf while official responsibilities lingered attracted significant attention, but something even more unusual caught the eye: an armored golf cart in his motorcade.
This is no ordinary golf cart, as you might guess. The sleek, blacked-out vehicle, dubbed ‘Golf Force One’ by some media outlets, is a four-door Polaris Ranger XP 1000. It has been outfitted with armor and exhibits all the characteristics of enhanced security, making it an ideal choice for Trump to navigate a golf course.
The entire scene appeared so extravagant that it could easily belong in a South Park episode, which conveniently just featured a naked Trump in the desert confronting a rather unimpressed Satan, provoking a strong reaction from the White House.
Interestingly, Trump did not utilize the armored Polaris for his 18 holes, opting instead for a conventional open-air golf cart. According to The War Zone, it is possible that Golf Force One is reserved for emergency situations, perhaps to evacuate Trump should a threat arise while he is on the course.
The addition of such a specialized vehicle comes less than a year following a second assassination attempt on Trump. Ten months prior, a gunman targeted him while he was playing at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Although the former president emerged unscathed, this incident likely intensified the need for enhanced security measures like this one.
What We Know About ‘Golf Force One’
Details regarding the Polaris are somewhat limited. However, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) website lists an armored Polaris that resembles the one discussed here, with an astonishing price tag of $188,922. It includes an upgrade package from Scaletta Moloney Armoring Corp.
In a conversation with Business Insider, a spokesperson from the Secret Service confirmed that this specialized Polaris is indeed part of the presidential fleet.
“The US Secret Service employs various tools and resources to protect our individuals of interest,” the spokesperson stated. “This vehicle is part of our presidential fleet of specialized vehicles. To uphold operational security, the Secret Service refrains from discussing the specific means and methods employed in our protection operations.”
