One of the few positive aspects of today’s internet is its ability to keep relatively obscure vehicles, such as the Falcon F7, from being entirely forgotten over time. I mention this not because the F7 is some hidden gem; rather, it represents America’s interpretation of a grassroots supercar, showcasing a mid-mounted Lingenfelter twin-turbo LS7 V8, a six-speed manual transaxle, and headlights that seem familiar from some other car, though I can’t pinpoint which. It’s rare, distinctive, and I’m pleased to see one listed on Cars & Bids for us to examine.
The Falcon F7 embodies what car enthusiasts typically desire: it produces over 1,000 horsepower without electric motors, weighs under 3,000 pounds, and features three pedals. Additionally, it boasts Penske coilover pushrod suspension and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes.
The profile isn’t too shabby either; if the flashy taillights and Viper ACR stripes were removed and the standard wheels replaced with something more striking, the F7 could achieve a sharp look reminiscent of traditional supercars from the ’90s to 2000s. While many might label this a Grand Theft Auto vehicle, to me it resembles a car straight out of the Burnout games, where several of those fictional cars looked quite impressive.
The Falcon F7 is actually a T-top, and I have to mention the hollow C-pillar—a feature I never tire of. Cars & Bids
This specific model is a 2014 version with only 1,700 recorded miles. Falcon Motorsports, based in Michigan, first unveiled the F7 at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. (Remember the Detroit Auto Show? It was a fantastic way to kick off each year.) The narrative indicates that in the subsequent 11 years, only seven units were manufactured. Due to Falcon's decision to craft these cars with extensive customization based on buyer feedback, they can differ significantly in appearance. Another unit that also appeared on Cars & Bids had a considerably less refined interior compared to the one currently available, to put it mildly.
As of four years ago, Falcon Motorsports was up for sale, but what transpired afterward remains uncertain. The company’s website is still operational and promoting the F7. Although the car might seem a bit outdated in terms of design, its underlying concept is timeless. There are currently six days left to bid on this F7 as of now, with the price at $55,000. That’s a decent amount considering these originally retailed for around a quarter-million dollars.
