This Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is finished in a custom Paint to Sample shade known as Ipanema Blue Metallic.
The sports car is equipped with the Aerokit, a fixed rear wing, and 911 Turbo S alloy wheels.
Despite its MSRP of $199,470, the car sold for $212,000 after approximately 7,000 miles.
It may appear that the only Porsche 911s that appreciate in value rather than depreciate as soon as they leave the showroom are the ultra-limited editions or track-focused RS models, which collectors pursue with enthusiasm.
However, the recent sale of a 2023 911 Carrera GTS for more than its original MSRP indicates that there is still a strong market for more standard, less extreme versions of the 911—if any 911 can truly be called “standard.”
It’s important to mention that this is not just any ordinary 911 Carrera GTS, as reflected in its original price of $199,470. While it's possible to configure a GTS to be relatively understated, this particular one is quite the opposite. For starters, it features the Paint to Sample color of Ipanema Blue Metallic, an expensive $11,430 option.
Additionally, the car includes the rarely-seen $2,030 Aerokit and $1,290 SportDesign side skirts. Its fixed rear wing may lead some to mistake it for a GT3, but in this case, it simply looks fantastic. The striking paint color contrasts with the black 20- and 21-inch 911 Turbo S wheels, which are equipped with Pirelli P Zero tires and paired with bright red brake calipers.
The impressive specifications extend to the interior, where a $4,530 interior package features Carmine Red accents, an electric glass sunroof, matte carbon fiber trim, and adaptive 18-way adjustable sport seats. This GTS also boasts a $3,980 Burmester audio system and Porsche-branded floor mats.
Clearly, this 911 was highly sought after. Despite being over two years old and having been driven approximately 7,000 miles, it sold for $212,000. Although the reserve on Bring a Trailer wasn’t met, the highest bidder and seller eventually reached an agreement.
According to a comment on the auction, the same vehicle was previously listed a year ago through Porsche San Luis Obispo for $229,000 but did not sell. The sale price on Bring a Trailer is not far from the $222,500 starting price of a 2025 911 GT3.
Of course, actually acquiring one at that price is a different matter altogether. Many 2023 and 2024 911 GT3s are currently listed for no less than $250,000, illustrating their desirability. Therefore, if a GT3 is beyond your budget (or not your preference), a well-specified GTS like this could be a viable alternative.
