2025 Lancia Ypsilon Hybrid Increases Power Without Additional Gain | Carscoops

      While the Hybrid variant remains the same, the Ypsilon EV is receiving several significant updates.

      Lancia has launched an updated version of the Ypsilon EV, which now offers an additional 14 miles of range.

      Enhancements include improved battery chemistry and a more efficient powertrain.

      The Ypsilon Hybrid is now rated at 108 hp, but no performance enhancements have been made.

      Lancia introduced the redesigned Ypsilon last year, but the automaker is already updating their new five-door hatchback, which is beneficial for consumers as the model becomes more efficient. Beginning with the Ypsilon Electric, the 54 kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery now features an “enhanced chemistry.” Additionally, the model showcases a more efficient powertrain.

      While further details were not provided, the EV now boasts a WLTP range of up to 264 miles (425 km). This reflects an increase of 14 miles (22 km), equating to roughly a 6% improvement. Conversely, the Ypsilon Hybrid emphasizes marketing transparency as the company is “more upfront about the actual power output.” This statement may seem peculiar, but the company has indicated that the combined output has risen from 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS) to 108 hp (81 kW / 110 PS).

      Although this appears to be a significant boost, Lancia clarified that this adjustment was made “in anticipation of the Euro 7 regulation, which, starting in November 2027, will require all hybrid models to declare their combined output rather than just that of the combustion engine.” Thus, despite an apparent increase of 9 hp (7 kW / 10 PS), no actual changes have occurred, and “everything under the hood remains the same.” This applies to both performance and fuel efficiency.

      While this may be somewhat disappointing, Lancia noted that this approach offers customers “more clarity and greater perceived value.” In terms of pricing, it stays the same, and both versions are now available.
