Honda is marking the 30th anniversary of the CR-V with the Dream Pod concept.
This camping-oriented crossover comes with a full-size mattress and an extendable kitchen.
The concept is based on the CR-V e:PHEV, which offers an electric-only range of 49 miles.
The Honda CR-V made its debut in 1995 and quickly garnered a loyal fanbase, helping it become the fifth best-selling vehicle in the United States last year.
Fast forward to now, and Honda Europe is celebrating the crossover’s anniversary with the new CR-V Dream Pod concept. It aims to celebrate adventure and is inspired by Japan’s capsule hotels.

On the outside, the concept features a two-tone design that is quite understated. However, it includes several accessories such as crossbars and a Thule bike carrier.
Significant updates are found inside, where an EGOE Nestboard 650 has been added to the cargo area. It unfolds to reveal a double mattress suitable for two adults. When it's time to sleep, you can set up rear window privacy screens and close a retractable blind located behind the front seats.
Along with the bed, the Nestboard 650 has a drawer that opens to reveal a stove and a collapsible sink. There are also storage spaces for items like plates and utensils.
Additional features include rubber floor mats, pull-out side tables, and ‘tech pods.’ These appear to combine LED reading lights with USB charging ports.
The Dream Pod concept is based on the CR-V e:PHEV, which is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a 17.7 kWh battery pack, and an electric motor, allowing for an electric-only range of 49 miles (79 km).
