Employee Pricing Makes a Comeback at Stellantis and Ford Due to Customer Uncertainty

Ford and Stellantis both unveiled new employee pricing incentive programs this week for customers nationwide, aiming to mitigate the bleak economic outlook and potentially attract shoppers before tariffs start raising prices in dealer inventories.

According to Automotive News, Stellantis will allow customers to choose between its current cash incentives or the new employee pricing program until the end of April. Ford's “From America, For America” employee pricing initiative will be available until June 2. However, given the unpredictability of the current situation, both dates could change at any time.

As illustrated in the screenshot below, Stellantis's existing offers are quite appealing. Additionally, the company has reduced prices across its brands for 2025 as part of a larger effort to boost sales. Recently, Stellantis paused production at four of its assembly lines—two in Canada (Dodge Charger and Chrysler Pacifica) and two in Mexico (Jeep Compass and Wagoneer S)—in response to the administration's import tariffs.

As is often the case, the more exciting models (like Ram RHO and Wrangler Rubicon 392) are not eligible for manufacturer incentives.

Meanwhile, Ford is poised to launch the updated Bronco Sport and Maverick. These models serve as the entry-level options in Ford's SUV and pickup categories, respectively, and are both produced in Hermosillo, Mexico. The Maverick, which Ford initially celebrated for its under $20k launch price, has already seen the starting MSRP of its base model rise by 35%.

For now, General Motors appears satisfied with its existing incentive strategy and has no plans to make changes for April, according to Automotive News.
