The concepts suggest a collaboration between LG and Kia, aimed at creating customized vans.

Kia utilized the Seoul Mobility Show to unveil two PV5 Spielraum concepts. One serves as a mobile fashion retailer, while the other features a lounge area and kitchen facilities.

Starting in 2026, Kia and LG will work together to integrate AI and appliances into PBV models.

Hyundai Motor Group made a significant impact at the Seoul Mobility Show with a range of concepts and production vehicles. In addition to the revamped Nexo and updated Ioniq 6, Genesis showcased an elegant G90 coupe and convertible.

This leads us to Kia, which presented a couple of PV5 Spielraum concepts, named after the German term for “play space,” designed for digital nomads.

The first version is the Spielraum Studio concept, essentially functioning as a mobile store. Its rear doors open to display shelves filled with products, while the cargo area includes a clothes rack and transparent cases for shoes.

Inside, the ingenuity continues with features like a smart mirror, coffee machine, and what seems to be a refrigerator, alongside a round chair and an LG Styler—an appliance designed for garment care, emphasizing sanitization and deodorization through TrueSteam technology.

Given that AI is a hot topic, the concept integrates artificial intelligence to keep track of your schedule and calculate the remaining travel time to your destination. It also suggests settings for the LG appliances inside.

The Spielraum Glow Cabin concept takes a different approach, featuring a lounge-like interior with a wraparound sofa and enclosed walls. Kia claims this version is tailored to meet the rising demand for car picnic experiences, incorporating a refrigerator, oven, and wine cellar, along with what appears to be a cooktop and storage compartments.

This concept could serve as an interesting tailgating vehicle, with Kia mentioning that the appliances are covered by color-changing MoodUP panels, which users can customize via the LG ThinQ app.

Kia and LG's collaboration for these concepts is intentional, as both companies aim to "work together on mobility space solutions based on PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) technology." While specific details were not fully disclosed, LG’s AI and appliances are expected to feature in PBV vans.

The partnership will allow vehicle owners to convert their cars into personalized offices, studios, or lounges. More details are anticipated later, as the collaboration is expected to yield results in the latter half of 2026.
