The modified 911 crashed into a concrete barrier after losing control during a race.

Equipped with a powerful twin-turbocharged flat-six engine and all-wheel drive, the Porsche 911 Turbo stands out as one of the fastest vehicles for getting from point A to point B. Unfortunately for one driver in the Netherlands, their 911 Turbo Cabriolet crashed into a wall at high speed while attempting to drag race a Brabus-modified E63 AMG.
The accident took place during the recent Auto Madness event at the TT Circuit of Assen, which is known for hosting a round of the MotoGP championship. Throughout the event, numerous vehicles competed in drag races, including this 911 Turbo and the Brabus 800.
The Porsche’s all-wheel drive system typically provides excellent traction, allowing it to launch off the line with remarkable speed. However, the track was wet during the event, and it appears the driver had deactivated the traction control system, which likely was not a wise decision.
After launching, the 911 Turbo began spinning its front and rear wheels, yet the driver kept the throttle pressed. Soon after, the rear of the car lost grip, veering to the right. The driver attempted to brake, but it was too late. The 911 Turbo crashed into a concrete barrier alongside the pit lane, triggering the rollover bars and shattering the rear window upon impact.
The damage seems to be significant. The front bumper is completely destroyed, along with one of the headlights and a front quarter panel. Both front wheels were damaged, as well as part of the quarter panel.
Crashing a car like this on the road is unfortunate enough, but insurance policies typically do not cover accidents occurring on racetracks. Hopefully, the owner of this 911 can manage to repair or replace it.
