All the Upcoming Nissan Models Set to Launch by 2027, Including Sentra and Frontier | Carscoops

The beleaguered automaker is striving to navigate its crisis by introducing a variety of new and updated products across international markets.

Nissan plans to launch more than 13 new and refreshed models within the next two years.

In North America, the lineup will include a new Leaf, a new Sentra, and at least four SUVs.

Key highlights from other regions encompass the Micra and Juke electric vehicles, minivans, and pickups.

Nissan is currently facing significant challenges. With declining sales, financial difficulties, unsuccessful merger discussions with Honda, and the resignation of its CEO, the outlook appears grim. However, instead of surrendering, the Japanese automaker is taking proactive steps. With a revised strategy in place, Nissan is preparing to unveil a series of new and refreshed models by 2027.

The updated lineup will showcase a combination of combustion, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric powertrains. Nissan has already teased several models due for release over the next two years, targeting various global markets.

For North America, Nissan will present a lineup of new vehicles, including new generations of the Nissan Leaf EV, the Sentra sedan, and the Rogue SUV, alongside a refreshed version of the Pathfinder.

The Leaf is transforming into a Crossover

To start, the Leaf will no longer be a simple hatchback; the new iteration is adopting a crossover design featuring sleeker aesthetics, 19-inch wheels, and a panoramic sunroof. It will be built on the CMF-EV platform shared with the larger Ariya and will offer “significant range improvements” compared to its predecessor. Additionally, it will be the first Nissan equipped with the NACS charging port, making it compatible with Tesla Superchargers.

Importantly, the new Nissan Leaf will be a global model, available not only in North America but also in Europe, Japan, and Australia.

      Rogue and Pathfinder Updates

The 2026 Nissan Rogue (referred to as the X-Trail in other regions) will receive a powertrain upgrade. It will be accessible in gasoline, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid variants. The e-Power hybrid system, utilizing a 1.5-liter engine that functions as a generator for the electric motor driving the wheels, is making a return.

It’s also worth noting that the Rogue PHEV will essentially be a rebranded Mitsubishi Outlander. Nissan is leveraging its Renault-Mitsubishi-Nissan partnership to adapt a Mitsubishi design for this model. Those expecting something completely new may need to adjust their expectations.

The Pathfinder will receive a mid-cycle update, featuring a refreshed front end to align it with the rest of Nissan's offerings. This unveiling is anticipated later this year.

      New Sentra and Additional SUVs

In addition, a redesigned Sentra compact sedan will be introduced, boasting sharper aesthetics that may or may not garner increased interest in compact sedans in general.

Lastly, Nissan has teased an “adventure-focused SUV” with an electric powertrain, set to be manufactured at the Canton, Mississippi facility in the US starting in 2027. The unnamed model features a boxy shape and futuristic LED lighting, appearing smaller than both the Rogue and the Pathfinder.

Electric Micra and Juke for Europe

In Europe, Nissan is preparing to launch the fully electric Micra, which will finally have its production model released after being teased since 2022. Sharing its platform with the Renault R5 E-Tech, this compact EV is expected to appeal to those seeking a greener option without sacrificing style.

Another significant launch for Europe will be the electric version of the Nissan Juke, inspired by the Hyper Punk concept. This zero-emission subcompact SUV differs from the internal combustion engine-powered Juke, featuring distinct sculpted bodywork while retaining some of its unique traits.

In the same region, the Nissan Qashqai will be updated with the third-generation e-Power hybrid powertrain, promising enhanced fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

A New Frontier/Navara for Latin America and a Different Pickup for Australia

Additionally, the new Navara/Frontier midsize pickup is set for release in 2026, although it will be exclusive to Latin American markets (LATAM). Based on teaser images, it appears to be a significantly redesigned version of the old Navara, featuring an “evolved design,” upgraded infotainment, and a promising array of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

The global version of the Nissan Navara will take on a different identity, sharing its foundation with the Mitsubishi Triton. This model is defined as an “all-new one-ton pickup” slated for release in Australia in 2026.

      Indian-Built SUV and Minivan

Nissan is preparing to introduce two new models in India, both of which will be manufactured at the company’s Chennai facility for domestic and export markets. The first will be a budget-friendly minivan with crossover styling, expected to debut in 2025.
