Only 28 units are anticipated to be produced, with each likely costing over $1 million.

Lynx has revealed its intention to create a street-legal hypercar inspired by the first-generation Ford GT.

These models are projected to feature a supercharged V8 engine generating over 1,200 hp.

A brochure on their website provided contradictory details and listed a price of $1.7 million.

Lynx Motors and Graham Rahal Performance have unveiled plans to provide a street-legal adaptation of the Ford Matech Concepts GT1 Le Mans race car. The backstory is somewhat complex; Matech Concepts failed, and Lynx acquired their assets, now repurposing first-generation chassis into an impressive hypercar.

Lynx offered limited details but suggested that the road-ready GT1 will have a wider stance, a carbon fiber body, and aerodynamic improvements. Based on the images, we can expect a substantial front splitter, canards, and a large rear wing.

Less information is available regarding the interior, but a rendering displays a refreshed cabin featuring a new steering wheel and what seems to be a wireless smartphone charger. Two-tone upholstery and carbon fiber accents are also visible.

While details are sparse, 28 units are expected to be manufactured in Zionsville, Indiana by Graham Rahal Performance. Each is anticipated to come equipped with a six-speed manual transmission from Ricardo, alongside a supercharged V8 engine delivering over 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1,217 PS).

Although the GT1 sounds intriguing, Lynx's website mentions Gulf and Eau Rouge variants, creating some confusion. These seem to be part of a previous plan, as a brochure indicates that the $1,700,000 Gulf variant was designed to feature a twin-turbo V8 engine generating more than 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1,217 PS).

The Gulf was also expected to produce two track-only variants, equipped with a Roush engine capable of developing 1,500 hp (1,119 kW / 1,521 PS). In contrast, the Eau Rouge was claimed to be capable of generating 1,400 hp (1,044 kW / 1,419 PS).
