      Koenig's interpretation of the iconic 911 Turbo was audacious, yet its vintage appeal is undeniable.

      This Koenig-modified Porsche 930 Road Runner is expected to fetch nearly $200,000 at auction.

      The extravagant fiberglass body panels on the 911 Turbo epitomize the excess and flamboyance of the '80s.

      This 911 features a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged engine that now generates between 473 hp and 542 hp.

      During the 1980s and 1990s, Koenig Specials built a reputation for transforming European sports cars and supercars into eye-catching, high-performance vehicles. Among their most extravagant creations is the Road Runner based on the Porsche 930 911 Turbo, which is now up for auction through Broad Arrow Auctions and is projected to sell for between $170,000 and $190,000.

      Koenig opted against preserving the Porsche 911 Turbo's traditionally subtle aesthetics, instead crafting a unique fiberglass body that can certainly attract attention. This custom kit features a completely redesigned front end with a new nose cone, custom quarter panels, and headlights sourced from a Porsche 928. The sides are especially extravagant, showcasing exaggerated air vents and dramatically shaped rear arches. While some of the bodywork may appear to have been warped by prolonged sun exposure, its dramatic presence is undeniable.

      At the rear, Koenig incorporated a large ducktail spoiler along with Audi 200 Turbo headlights. The vehicle is painted in the classic Guards Red color. Even if the bold styling doesn't appeal to you, the notable mechanical enhancements are hard to overlook.

      Koenig modified the 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine to produce between 473 hp and 542 hp, depending on boost pressure—more than double the original power output of the 911 Turbo. It also includes new cross-drilled and ventilated brakes, a front strut brace, reinforced anti-roll bars, and Bilstein shocks. A new exhaust system completes the key upgrades.

      Inside, the Road Runner boasts Champagne-colored leather upholstery that has aged beautifully over time. The listing notes that the car has covered 24,253 km (15,070 miles) and underwent a comprehensive engine-out service in January, which cost over $20,000.
