Ford has returned with an impressive lease offer for the all-electric F-150 Lightning. Thanks to an enticing $10,500 customer incentive package, you can now lease an F-150 Lightning for only $249 per month for 36 months, which also includes a home charging installation.
CarsDirect reported on the new incentives, highlighting that the price aligns with a current promotion for the Tesla Model 3, but there’s a catch. Well, actually 6,809 catches—by catches, we mean the amount you’ll need to put down to qualify for the advertised lease rate. This upfront cost is nearly double what is required for Tesla’s $249/month deal, although the Lightning is a pickup truck compared to the sedan, and the Cybertruck isn’t particularly affordable at this time. For those considering a non-EV for comparison, either of these options would still be more economical to lease than a 2025 Honda Civic.
This isn’t the first instance of Ford offering discounted Lightning leases. In May, the automaker presented over $15,000 in incentives on the high-end Platinum model. In July, there was a $452/month offer that made leasing the Lightning more cost-effective than some versions of the Maverick, the company's smallest and least expensive model overall. CarsDirect also notes that current Ram and/or Tesla owners may benefit from conquest cash, making this latest offer even more appealing.
These proactive strategies will aid in maintaining inventory as Ford increases production of the 2025 F-150 Lightning. Ford halted production at the facility manufacturing the Lightning in October to allow dealers to manage existing backlogs. Production is set to resume in January. Furthermore, Ford has adjusted the timelines for its next-generation trucks. In August, it was announced that the second-generation Lightning would be delayed until 2027, while the new gasoline and hybrid F-150s are now also expected to launch a year later, in 2028.
