The Toyota/Lexus supercar developed by Gazoo Racing is anticipated to enter production by the summer of 2025.

Reports indicate that the model will have a hybrid twin-turbo V8 engine with a total output of 900 hp.

Camouflaged prototypes have frequently been seen in both racing and street-legal variants.

The engineers at Toyota Gazoo Racing are diligently working on their next flagship supercar, designed to follow in the footsteps of the Lexus LFA. After months of camouflaged prototypes appearing on test tracks, a recent report from Japan suggests that production might begin as soon as this summer, potentially leading to the first deliveries in the fall.

Internally referred to as the GR GT3, this new flagship car from the Toyota group is expected to feature the Lexus LFR badge, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. There is also a possibility that it may launch under the Gazoo Racing name as an independent model, but regardless of the branding, it will be at the pinnacle of Toyota's GR lineup.

      Design and Performance Details

Spy photographers have captured both racing and road-going incarnations of the supercar, which resembles an evolved version of Toyota’s 2022 GR GT3 Concept but now includes subtle design elements inspired by Lexus. Engine sounds from testing videos strongly imply the presence of a V8 engine beneath the lengthy hood, likely as part of an electrified powertrain.

According to Best Car, the new Japanese supercar will feature a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine accompanied by a self-charging hybrid system. The combustion engine alone is reported to produce 720 hp (537 kW / 730 PS), with total output estimated to reach 900 hp (671 kW / 912 PS) when supplemented by the hybrid system.

Constructed on an aluminum chassis and encased in carbon fiber bodywork, the new model aims to balance lightweight design with high durability. Spy images also show that the track-exclusive GT3 variant features side-mounted exhausts and noticeably more aggressive aerodynamic components than its road-legal sibling.

      Pricing and Production

If current speculations prove correct, the supercar could be priced around ¥30 million ($197,000) in Japan, making it less expensive than hybrid competitors such as the Lamborghini Temerario, Ferrari 296 GTB, and the forthcoming electrified 750S successor from McLaren. Unlike the Lexus LFA, this model is reportedly not intended for limited production, which could make it more accessible, at least to those within the supercar budget.

It has also been reported that we may witness the production version's debut as early as this summer, which, if accurate, should lead to the emergence of more details soon. In the meantime, take a look at the latest spy shots and video below.
