This Blue Singer DLS Might Fetch a Higher Price Than a Koenigsegg Jesko | Carscoops
Powering the DLS is a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine from Williams, producing 500 hp.
Singer is set to produce only 75 units of the lightweight, high-performance DLS based on the 911.
This model takes inspiration from the Oppenheimer Blue diamond and incorporates blue-tinted carbon fiber.
The interior features an elegant mix of cream leather and blue Alcantara.
One exceptionally rare Singer DLS will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s this month, with an expected selling price between $3.25 million and $3.7 million. For context, this amount is comparable to a new Aston Martin Valkyrie and is not far from the starting price of over $4 million for a Bugatti Tourbillon.
Singer has created some remarkable Porsche 911-based models throughout its history, but none are quite as unique as the DLS, which stands for Dynamics and Lightweighting Study, made possible through collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering. It is equipped with a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine that delivers 500 hp, paired with a standard six-speed manual transmission that powers the rear wheels.
Only 75 units of the Singer DLS will be made, with this particular one known as ‘The Oppenheimer Commission.’ It was inspired by the Oppenheimer Blue diamond and boasts a stunning Brilliant Blue Metallic finish from the Mercedes-Benz color palette. The DLS rests on 18-inch magnesium BBS wheels. The original owner also opted for smoked taillights, adding $18,000 to the cost, as well as carbon fiber Porsche lettering on the decklid and trim on both the front and rear bumpers.
A glimpse under the engine cover showcases how exceptional this vehicle is, featuring exquisite blue-tinted carbon fiber throughout, with the flat-six engine resembling a piece of art. It’s no wonder that this car has only been driven 120 km (75 miles) since new, as many would hesitate to get that pristine engine dirty.
The interior is equally well-appointed, characteristic of every Singer DLS we've seen thus far. Custom elements include a maple wood gearshift knob, cream leather upholstery on the seats, blue Alcantara on the steering wheel, and blue carbon fiber accents on the seat backs.
