The unique ID. Buzz showcases a custom wrap that complements the 911 Dakar, and it is simply stunning.

This specially crafted ID. Buzz displays a Rothmans livery to match the Porsche 911 Dakar and was designed by Porsche Classic Center Gelderland for a special client.

Built on the RWD passenger model, the ID. Buzz delivers 282 hp.

The Porsche 911 Dakar is a fantastic addition to any collection, but if you want to transport it in style, this customized VW ID. Buzz is the answer. Wrapped to align with the rally-ready sports car's design, this electric van ensures that towing a Porsche is done with style.

Created by the Porsche Classic Center Gelderland in the Netherlands, this one-off electric van is adorned in an iconic Rothmans-inspired color scheme, which combines dark blue and white with red and gold graphics. Porsche lettering and racing decals along its sides enhance the retro look, making it appear as an authentic support vehicle for classic motorsports.

The custom wrap emulates the "Rally Design Pack" offered for the Porsche 911 Dakar, which pays homage to the brand’s victorious 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally car. To comply with tobacco advertising regulations, the Rothmans logo has been replaced by “Rough Roads” branding, preserving the vintage rally aesthetic while avoiding references to cigarette sponsorship.

Instead of opting for the cargo version, Porsche chose the passenger variant of the ID. Buzz. It is evident from the outside that this is the rear-wheel-drive model, boasting 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS), unlike the sportier GTX variant with its dual-motor setup producing 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS). Nonetheless, with a 911 Dakar in tow, performance needs are more than satisfied.

This isn’t the first VW ID. Buzz sporting a Porsche-themed livery; in 2023, Porsche Netherlands produced eight VW ID. Buzz Renndienst editions, which were contemporary takes on the Porsche Renndienst support vans based on the air-cooled VW T1 and T2 models.

While liveries are appealing, the excitement increases when genuine Porsche parts are fitted to VW vans. A notable example is the B32, a VW Transporter T3 with a Porsche VIN, which was utilized to carry spare parts for the 959 Dakar rally car in 1985. This special T3 is equipped with a Carrera-swapped 3.2-liter flat-six engine generating 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS), along with enhanced suspension and upgraded brakes.

The custom ID. Buzz featuring the iconic livery may motivate Porsche 911 Dakar owners to acquire matching VWs for towing purposes. And if you missed out initially, there’s good news: the 911 Dakar is expected to return in 2026 as part of the facelifted 992.2 lineup, featuring hybrid power sourced from the 911 GTS.
