Contrary to what you might believe about the elite class and their beverage preferences, Bugatti owners do drink water. They opt for premium glass-bottled European water instead of the affordable options from gas stations, as staying hydrated is a must. Even with personal chefs, physiotherapists, and immediate medical assistance, the wealthy can still feel the need for a drink while driving their multimillion-dollar vehicles. Shocking, right? In such situations, they require something practical that we everyday drivers often take for granted in our standard cars: cupholders.

Fortunately, Frank Heyl, Bugatti’s design director, stepped in to assist a Chiron owner who recently raised a concern about the car’s lack of cupholders after spilling a drink. On Wednesday afternoon, Heyl shared a video on his Instagram showing the final prototype of the cupholder insert. You can view the video below or click here.

As demonstrated, the cupholder is designed to fit into the car’s door pocket, which is quite clever for several reasons. Firstly, it can be removed if the owner chooses to sell the vehicle or requires additional storage. Secondly, as Heyl points out, no drilling, cutting, or gluing is necessary. Lastly, it has a fully factory look. In fact, it actually is factory-made, but it appears as though it was part of the car from the start.

Heyl mentions in the video that the prototype he is working on is the final version and that production is now underway. It’s not clear how long it took Bugatti to create this part, but Heyl uploaded the initial cupholder “request” video in late December. If that’s when development began, then this part has progressed from concept to reality in about six weeks. Now that’s impressive service.

Typically, you would expect this level of attentiveness when spending $3,000,000 on one of the world's finest cars, but that's not always the case. Paying a high price for a car these days doesn’t guarantee direct access to the company's higher-ups. In this instance, Bugatti demonstrates its commitment to valuing customer feedback and is willing to engage its team and utilize its resources to ensure client satisfaction. Kudos to you, Bugatti.
