The 2025 model boasts significantly greater power compared to one of its closest competitors in the market, the BMW M5.

AMG GT 63 S E Performance has debuted in the US, featuring an impressive 831 hp and a PHEV twin-turbo V8.

Performance remains exceptional, with a 0-60 mph time of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 197 mph.

While pricing details are yet to be released, it will be positioned above the GT 43 and GT 53 models.

After nearly 18 months since its European update, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance has finally made its way to the United States. Although pricing information is still awaited, it is expected to sit atop the range alongside the GT 43 4-Door Coupe and GT 53 4-Door Coupe, which start at $101,100 and $112,000, respectively.

Visual updates are minimal, and many may not even notice the differences. One of the most noticeable changes is the redesigned front grille, featuring a lower section finished in gloss black, giving the vehicle a distinctive look. The previously prominent air intakes have been replaced with subtler versions, reminiscent of those found on the second-generation AMG GT Coupe.

Most of the key elements have been retained. Like its predecessor, it still utilizes AMG's flagship 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a robust electric motor that contributes an additional 201 hp and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm). The total output reaches an impressive 831 hp and 1,032 lb-ft (1,399 Nm). Take that, BMW M5.

With the help of a fully variable all-wheel-drive system and a nine-speed automatic transmission, the powerful hybrid V8 accelerates the super sedan to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds, achieving an electronically limited top speed of 197 mph (317 km/h). Like the previous model, this new version remains a plug-in hybrid, with a 4.8 kWh battery pack that allows for a limited all-electric driving range.

      Pricing Still Unknown

While the sales of plug-in hybrids have slowed in many segments of the market, one attractive feature of the GT 63 S E Performance is its four-stage brake regeneration system. Similar to an electric vehicle, this includes a one-pedal driving mode capable of returning up to 100 kW of energy to the battery pack.

Several minor modifications have been made inside the cabin, including upgraded AMG-specific displays on the MBUX infotainment system. An AMG Performance steering wheel is also standard across the lineup.
