New Mercedes GLC EQ Expands Beyond Two Rows | Carscoops
The newly introduced GLC EQ is reportedly set to be complemented by a new seven-seat version.
Mercedes is currently testing a larger three-row GLC EQ.
The prototype features a flatter roofline and larger rear doors.
We can anticipate a similar interior that includes the MBUX Superscreen and Hyperscreen.
Mercedes debuted the GLC EQ at the Munich Motor Show this autumn, but this is just the beginning. In fact, spy photographers have captured the first images of what seems to be a new three-row model.
Spotted parked next to the standard version, the seven-seat crossover showcases a design that resembles its smaller counterpart. However, it exhibits a flatter roof, revised rear doors, and a distinct rear end.
The rear end has been elongated and features a more upright rear window. The camouflage hints at larger third-quarter glass and a redesigned D-pillar.
Aside from these unique characteristics, the model boasts starry headlights and plastic body cladding. It also displays a familiar grille and a rear light bar with circular elements.
Although spy photographers didn’t capture any interior shots, we can expect the vehicle to include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14-inch infotainment system.
Customers will likely have the opportunity to upgrade to the MBUX Superscreen, which comes with a 14-inch display for the front passenger. For those seeking even more screen space, the MBUX Hyperscreen offers a 39.1-inch display that spans the dashboard.
We can also anticipate a familiar powertrain featuring a 94 kWh battery pack alongside a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system that produces 483 hp (360 kW / 490 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque.
This allows the standard version to achieve 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds, reach a top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h), and have a WLTP range of 418 miles (673 km).
The three-row crossover is thought to be aimed at the Chinese market. However, it remains uncertain, as the model could be suitable for various markets.
