Some time ago, I received an email informing me that I was eligible to join a class-action lawsuit against ParkMobile—one of the numerous self-service mobile parking applications available wherever municipal parking can be monetized. It seems that the app did something rather trendy and allegedly allowed unauthorized access to protected customer information. As is often the case with such matters, I thought little of it. Class-action payouts are frequently meager, and at times, even insulting. After completing the necessary steps to join the class, I placed the email into a dark corner of my Gmail and forgot about it until this week, when I got another email about the settlement... and my $1.00 payout.

It's worth mentioning that I don't frequently use this app—I'm talking about only a handful of transactions. If I had been a frequent user, I likely wouldn't have brushed off the suit so easily. Interestingly, those who opted for the cash payment were eligible for amounts up to $25—a sum that could significantly impact many of the less fortunate individuals still vying for parking spots across America.

Seriously, though—one dollar? And not even a check but a credit? What a waste of time. As usual, the answer lies in the fine print. Take a look for yourself:

You read that right. It's not just a one-dollar credit; I can redeem it only in 25-cent increments by using ParkMobile's services four times—something I would probably have to make an extra effort to do even once. In essence, to ease my inconvenience, for which ParkMobile claims no responsibility and was not held liable, the company is providing itself with four more chances to secure my business.

Like a little pat on the back, four times! Wow, I really feel compensated.

Did you actually receive a payout, or are you joining me in the disappointing coupon club? Let me know at [email protected] or [email protected].

The Toyota GR010 Hybrid first made its appearance in 2021 as a successor to the TS050 Hybrid. Like all WEC Hypercars, it is homologated under stringent regulations, allowing only five “joker” development opportunities throughout its lifecycle. Some of these have already been utilized in a 2023 update, with the remaining likely to be implemented in this new redesign.

It remains uncertain whether the hybrid system will undergo any modifications. The current configuration combines a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with a front-mounted electric motor, generating a total of 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS), as per series regulations.

Toyota Gazoo Racing confirmed its work on an upgraded racing vehicle during the challenging 6 Hours of Fuji for the Gazoo Racing team. As reported by Autohebdo, Kazuki Nakajima, Vice-chairman of Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe, stated:

“We are planning to introduce an evolution for next year. At the beginning of October, we will conduct the first test of the car equipped with this new aerodynamic package. As a team, we are collaborating and continuing our preparations with a strong intent to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans next year. To be honest, we have been considering this development since last year, and we even contemplated launching it this year, but due to the change in the homologation wind tunnel location, we chose to postpone it for a year.”
